Sounds like a good decision. Remember you are also interviewing them to see if you feel that you can work with them and like their approach. Have some questions that YOU want to ask them. They probably want to learn about your addiction; what you have taken, for how long, if you had tired to stop before, what happens when you stop etc. What type of support you have around you. They probably are trying to come up with a good detox plan for you and determine if this is something you can do on your own with support and maybe if you are right for a group.

Good for you! Good Luck, let us know how it turns out.

I believe Zjillian is right, every centre has a slightly different angle so you are interviewing them too.  I am in counselling right now and its been really helpful.  My counselor knows that while quitting opiates (tapering for me) there will be a whole bunch of powerful emotions.  There are issues I havent dealt with for years, thanks to the pills.  So good for you to get on top of it.  Support is key.  Best of luck and cant wait to hear how you made out.

How did they speak to you on the phone?  Was it with respect?  No use to put yourself through more, by going to some horrible place where they make you feel badly.  I went to this place and they were so nice.  Some places, if you read other peoples posts, make a person feel extremely bad about themselves... be careful where you go.  I got lucky and found a good place.. thank God..
