crack

I'm under the impression that my husband ( whom i'm seperated from for over a year now) is smoking crack. He used to have a problem 6 months ago with coccaine, and i snooped and figured it out. but i know nothing about crack, so i dont' kwon what signs i'm looking for.
what does it do to his eyes? pupils?
i went over there this morning, and there was a weird smell in the house. just nothing i'd smelled before. well, actually i smelled it last week when i was over there. but never before.

the research i've done on-line states facts.
but it does not give the inside info that i am looking for.
can anyone help, please?

How old is your daughter?  I think I would be grateful that he is "forgetting" to pick her up.  Maybe you should "forget" to be home if he does remember to pick her up?  I pray for protection over your little girl.

i feel the same way...I just googled pupils on crack and you came up.  my husband used to be a crack addict some years ago and then he turned to pain killers off and on for 3 years...but i have been smelling smoke on everything which really worries me...but his eyes are the same...glossy, red and his pupils are always small and he won't look me in the eye...

well, he has had a problem with coccaine for 18 months. but he's said he hasn't used in months now. however, that is why i'm scared it has changed to another drug.
i know he used to smoke pot. and that was not as a big deal, becuase it kept him from being so violent. and he was still there for me and my daughter.
but then the cocaine... well we moved out. and he didn't work every day, and $1200 missing a month, and get this.... he gained 40 pounds. i know that is the total opposite, but that is how he worked. when he smoked pot, he'd go play ball for 4 hours, then come home and do the yard. but when he used coc he laid on the couch for days and ate like crazy.
now, whatever it is now... his eyes are glosy, and pupils are super small, and he hasn't been to work in 4 days, and won't answer the door, phone, or remember to pick up our daughter.
so, what is it?
i don't know drugs at all! all i've ever done is drink acohol and cmoke cigerettes. so i'm super nieve.

Look at his thumbs.  If he's been hitting a stem it won't be long before it looks like his thumbs are burned up on the side toward the index finger.  It's not actually a burn, it's caused by the almost-constant flicking of lighters, but it looks like a burn.  If he's not too far into it yet it may just look like an oddly-placed callus

Burns on the lips too . . . it's often difficult to remember which end of the stem is cool.

Also, look for sudden weight loss - there's nothing quite like the "stem-fast" diet.

There are many people in sustained Recovery after nasty runs with crack, so all is not lost.  It does take significant time with total abstinence before relapse is all but certain.  I think that long-term rehab is the best solution -- your standard 28 day in-patient doesn't seem to do the trick very often (regardless of how much they want to stay clean).

To be honest, one of the good things about crack is that it takes its victims down SO FAST, and SO VERY HARD, that it gets them in a posture where they actually have a good chance of finding Recovery sooner, rather than later.  There's no such thing as a social crack-smoker - it is out of control almost immediately.  Something like instant insanity.
