Creek, if I can make it anyone can make it!

I know it seems impossible and hopeless, but it's really not. I had to take life in very small bites initially - forget about that one-day-at-a-time stuff, I was talking minutes at a time, then hours at a time for a long time before I got to a day at a time.

I was just laughing to myself because thinking about very early recovery reminded me of my initial days in my last rehab. I thought I was doing pretty damn good, all things considered - I wasn't dead, maimed or in jail - I was able to walk and talk. I found out toward the end of my first 30 days that when I had first showed up the others in the group all thought I was some schizo-street-person and the staff had said I was actually a lawyer just so they'd be nice to me.

I haven't had a chance to read much today on here but I saw you were going to an NA meeting and were going to get a sponser. You already know that's very good. Just go to as many meetings as you can and let those people know that you're in trouble. Nothing rallies addicts with Recovery more than someone who needs help and will ask for it. So many people show up at meetings at put on a front as to how they're doing just fine, etc., etc, -- that never does anyone much good.

Do worry about putting on a good face or holding it together, etc. Just go, be honest, find someone who has want you want, and follow direction.l

I'll be praying for you. I had lots of people that I never met praying for me early on (maybe still) and it meant a lot to me.

you seem to ground me.  in some way   the words you say connect.  Do you know how good it feels just to "get it" from someone elses experience.
