day 2 (and a half, hey i'll take all i can get..)

not really a ?, just need to rant. stopped taking 7.5 vics on friday. was eating 10-15 7.5/750 a day. sometimes more. didn't have a script. i haven't actually been high off of it in forever. the last 6 months just chasing "normal" at $25 - $30 a day. nuckin futz.

i am a mom. a wife. no one knows. my hubby thinks i have the flu. (or m/b he's on to me but would rather deny it). either way, i have no one i can talk to. going to take tomorrow off work (since i'm not functional anyhow), go see my doctor, and get some help. a referral to a therapist is what i'm looking for more than sub/anti-w/d meds. i want to suffer. that is what kept me from doing coke regularly is that coming down felt so awful. i never want to be back here again. and i won't, one day @ a time....

Hi shell and welcome. I'm glad you found us and have decided to quit and see a professional about getting some help. It can be a scary prospect and as you probably know, it won't be easy. You can do this, though. Come on here and post your feelings, vent, or whatever. We'll be here. My first two recommendations are Immodium (generic will work just fine) and lots of Gatorade, Vitamin Water, or Powerade. Eat lightly, like soups and crackers, fruits, bananas for potassium which helps with the restless legs. Pamper yourself with a comfy quilt and herbal tea with lemon and honey and a peppermint stick. Hunker in to watch some movies or shows you've been meaning to watch.

I hope you stick around and keep posting!

Hi shell,

My hubby is my best friend, and he does try so hard to understand. The thing is, when one hasn't gone through it, while they may sympathize, they just aren't capable of getting it. Also, years ago before I had ever seen a pain pill, my ex-husband was an alcoholic. I didn't understand it, all I knew was that he would get mean and then later promise to do better. I don't know if had I been able to know where he was coming from whether we would have stayed together or not because we were both so young. The point is, I perceive it from both sides now.

I am glad you are here and want to take control of your life. It won't be easy, but with the help of this forum and later some form of aftercare, you will begin to feel better and see progress.

Please let us know how things are going. You have friends here.

Blessings and hugs,

Minn
