day 25 with no suboxen and the RLS is still torture.aNY SUGGESTIONS??

Hi everyone i will get right to the point i started out taking oc'30s everyday up to like 2-3 i was getting them for free so didnt have to buy them and them 2-3 turned to 5-6 and im sure u guys no the drill turned into a 10 a day habit.... did that for about 3 years then was fed up tried to ween myself off them and that was a big mistake i was not educated with withdrawels at that point and my life turned upside down got my house raided for selling them and then i reached out to family that i had a problem not that they didnt already know and then came this dr who said come on subs everything will be alright...well she prescribed me 4 8's a day which i was at 155 pounds not a big guy so all that suboxen was actually getting me high to a point...Anyhow i was on suboxen for 5 years and i went to vegas for 2 weeks and when i was in vegas my baby mother who called my dr for 5 years made another attempt to get me and when i arrived back to maine long story short i had no dr.... i was prescribed ativan for 4 years that i got droped from also.... i have custody of my son so many attempts to get me back finally paid off for her... the dr tried calling me for a pill count the whole 2 weeks cause the BM said i was selling my medication...so anyhow i decided to ween myself off cause i was just sick of all this... This whole lifestyle was 2 much for me.. 25 days ago i jumped off 2 mg's a day and i know what oc withdrawels feel like and it honestly was not intense as oc withdrawels which is my opinion.. i can eat sleep take care of my child pretty much whatever and the colonodine is making me pretty tired through the day...my ONLY problem is the RLS its driving me nuts and i am only taking the colonodine to bear these RLS pain thats killing me... does anyone know if i should come off the colonodine or wait till the RLS is completely gone.... i have no DR i bought the colonodine pills... i am just confused i thought by day 25 things would be looking up.... any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks

Okay - I just googled Drug Interaction Checker and found a web site that allows you to put in the drugs you're taking to see if a potentially dangerous interaction exists - it appears as if there is a moderate level of interaction with what you're taking - so if you get a chance, google "Drug Interaction Checker" and check it out.  I don't want to put the specifics here as I believe it's against the forum's list of rules and policies to follow.

Good luck to you! :)

You are SO welcome!  I'm so glad some of these things are working for you.

And yeah, RLS is tricky - I still get bouts of that from to time now and I'm almost 8 months clean.  So although I'm no Dr., I just wanted to share that with you in the hopes that it might just be an annoyance with you for a while longer too.  And keep trying the bananas for the potassium - although they may not have helped early on, the longer your body is clean, the more "open" it will be to other alternatives to feeling better.

SO glad you found your way back.  Stay strong!  :)

You too tino - thanks.  :)  p.s. and yeah, appetite returning is normal.  so enjoy eating again as your body probably needs those nutrients in the food anyway, so it's all good!

You are VERY welcome!!!  I just put in "quinine" as one of the drugs since I figured it was the quinine in the hylands that was the active ingredient.  But nonetheless you found what you needed and I'm SO happy about that!  Good luck tonight - and hope you get some really good sleep as you deserve it.  You're doing a good thing here so don't ever lose sight of that!  :)

It just occured to me that the OTC sleep aids (like the PM product you mentioned) gave me HORRIBLE RLS, never mind the fact that they didn't help me sleep at all!

The melatonin has been much more effective in helping me sleep - you might want to give that a try?  :)

Bananas are great for RLS - something to do with their potassium content.

And there's also a product called Hylands Restful Legs with quinine - many members here swear by this relief also.  Good luck to you.  :) p.s. but be careful with drug interactions with the quinine so check with your pharmacist first to make sure it's okay to take with any drugs you're still on.
