day 3 off suboxone bad withdrawals !?

by sl0wtime, Mar 26, 2009 01:06AM
please help!
I was taking a whole bunch of oxy 80's for about 3 months..I then wanted to stop, and didn't want to feel that horrible wd ever again..so I started taking the subone, for about 2 weeks..
1st day 8 mg
2nd 4 mg
3rd -5th day 2 mgs
skipped a day felt great..
7th day 2mgs
8th-9th day 2mgs
skipping about one more day and then ending the 2 weeks with 2mg each day..
*Its been 3 days since not having any and I feel so bad!! Strechie feeling all over my body, anxiety, pain, cannot sleep at night frustration, cannot really focus at work, or home..I want to jump out of my skin..
this reminds me of years ago getting off of heavvvvy opiates that I was on for a year..
So my question is, is the 3rd day just horrible, or is this here to stay for a while? :(

I'm sorry I don't have any personal experience with sub. There are plenty of members here that do though. It's late and I'm not sure many are on right now,but they will be along later and I'm sure they will be able to help.I just wanted you to know that you're not alone.

Everyone is different.  Suboxone seems to go all over the charts as far as when someone feels good.  Do you have any smaller crumbs that are smaller than 2mg?  Suboxone is supposed to be tapered slowly, and it is even more effective if you can go down to the smallest crumbs possible before you go to nothing.  Worse comes to worse, take the 2mg every 3 days.  Then space it to 4 days...5 days...etc.  Honestly though.  Going with nothing and being patient and keeping yourself busy would be the best thing to do.  I think 2 weeks is a good time frame and if you haven't improved even one tiny bit, then it'll be time to re-evaluate it at that time.  I sure hope that in the long run you find something that works for you and A. Helps you live your life normally and B. Gets you off the Suboxone in the long run.  Good luck!

For me after using sub for almost 5months starting at 8mgs, when I quit days 3-6 were the worst days of the w/d period. I would say that I had about 10days total where I had most physical symtpoms of opiate w/d before things started to get better. I did have some lingering mental issues like depression/anxiety that went on for longer, but I also think that I had the depression/anxiety for a long time that was just masked by my opiate abuse. I would say if your already at day 4 to just stick it out as things should start to improve in the coming days. If you really feel that uncomfortable you could taper down to a smaller dose. When I quit the tabs that I was getting were 2mgs tabs, not the 8mg tabs, and I was taking just a small little piece about(.25-.5mgs) for about a week before I quit. If for some reason you do take some more suboxone I would suggest just taking a tiny crumb/sliver to lessen the w/ds, but even then you will have to go through some sort of w/d's when you stop. Thats the reason I say since your already at day 3 or 4 that I would just stick it out. You can look up the thomas recipe and amino acid protocol that can help with some of the fatigue and overall mood. I used melatonin 5mg to help me with sleep. I did also have some clonidine that the doctor had given me that helps a bit with jumping out of your skin feeling, so you may want to contact your doctor and see if thats possible. The main thing is to realize that these symptoms will subside, for some it takes longer than others, but since you only used for about 2wks hopefully it doesnt last too long. If you have any questions that I can help you with feel free to send me a message or note with your concerns and Id be happy to try and help. You  can get through this, I know its rough but its worth going through for your sobriety. So try and stay as positive as possible, remain determined and you will make it through. Life on the other side is so worth it, just make sure you seek some sort of aftercare so that you never have to deal with this again. People say it a million times but staying clean really is the hard part of addiction, so make sure you do what is necessary to stay clean. I wish you all the best, keep posting for support, theres tons of people here willing to help you through this process. Best wishes to you, take care.

PS - We are all proud of you for quitting that nasty Oxy habit.  Wow!  Going from taking all those Oxy 80s to 2mg of Suboxone and now nothing is a great thing in itself.  It really is amazing.  I think I speak for everyone when I say if you can do something like that, you can give this a fair try.  Good luck my friend.
