day 30 cold turkey methadone!!

Not officially for 6 hours but hey I'm excited as hell I've made it this far. Recap: I jumped ship at 110 mgs of methadone. Enough was enough. Tired of the clinic running my life.
Current symptoms: energy is okay, I get about 4 to 6 hours of sleep per night, my sweating has seemed to completely stop,  no more chills, I do get tired easily... and sneezing. I sneeze all the time. It's the most annoying part I think. Has anyone else coming off of dones had this problem?!? In the beginning it was 12 times in a row now I'm down to like 4 to 7. Haha it is getting better. . . I bought a natural sleep aid with laverian root in it. This will be my second night trying it so I'll let you guys know if it helps. Melatonin did not help for me. I went to the Dr the other day and they tried to prescribe me paxil, I said no, then they tried to prescribe me xanax. As much as I wanted to say YES and take it with open hands I told them I don't want to trade one addiction for the other and they said to try laverian root since I'm sticking to the natural. There's no easy way out but I did not feel like I'd make it out all in one piece. I still have my up and down days  of course. I've seen a lot of newer people posting and I wanted to let you know it's so worth the pain and agony and crying and aching. It really is. One more day closer to freedom thank you guys!!! -Kristen

Yes, the sneezing is common regardless of which opiate in my experience. Some of the withdrawal symptoms are bizarre aren't they! The yawning, I find weird. I would yawn about ten times in a row at some points. It's on the COWS sheet as a sign of withdrawal but I do find it odd, that and having to constantly stretch out my legs and buttocks, lol. Anyway, well done to you, you have done an amazing job and are proof that there is a light at what sometimes seems like a very dark tunnel.

Wow Kleighnn, I did not realize you jumped at that high of a dose O.o I thought you said 13mg before!!!! Way to go girl. You are really incredible. You are made of extremely strong stuff girl. I know Weaver jumped at 160 and I am just in awe of both of you. You've redeemed yourself, and you deserve the best in life. I am glad you put your own life, above that of the drug. What you did was nothing short of amazing!

I am so glad you said no to the antidepressants really. I think that these things should be reserved in the case of extreme and incurable or unexplained depression. Your depression is the result of what you are going through and you should try to find natural means of boosting your sense of well being. Doctors are so keen to give a pill for freaking everything and we see time and time again where this leads us. My mom is on like 15 different pharmaceuticals, one to fight the side effects of the other. I won't rant about it ugh.

As far as sneezing, anytime I am in w/d, I sneeze like crazy. I have extreme RLS and even restless arms now. I can't wait to be where you are, and I feel rather a weakling for not doing what you did, but I have tried twice and it didn't go well.

Anyway, it's obviously a slow slow process, but you're getting better by the day!

thanks for sharing! It's so inspiring.

I wouldn't say my energy is back to 100% by all means, but it is definitely 80% improved from where it was. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with the sneezing problem lol. It drives me nuts!

Hey Girl great to see you, great to see you clean your doing ausum for 30 days this stuff is ruff coming off of. I can relate to the dreams  in ''tec/na color''and also with the sneezing I  think it is just reflex action that the methadone suppressed just keep doing what your doing try and get out for a walk even if your tired exorcize helps with the ''energy crash'' your sleep will come back slowly  keep posting for support good luck and God bless.......Gnarly

I would like to Congratulate you too!! That was a high dose to jump..I jumped at 30mg when I got down that far..Mine was prescribed for 12 years for pain..Coming off that and 2 other meds was no cake walk..YOU are coming around great..It took me a long time..As far as the sneezing it has been a while since I have detoxed but I do remember this. It seem like every where the poisons could come out they would. Even the watering of the eyes. I do not know why we sneeze..haha Oh well it is all part of the process. Just keep on stepping forward and Do Not look back..Do you plan on any after care??..This is very important. Sometimes we think we will NEVER do this again..BUT we have a disease that can come out at any given moment with situations at hand. Please be Safe and Keep Your Guard Up as it has been said around here for a long time..Good Luck!!

sneezing yes  lol im clean from heroin but methadone is pretty much sythentic heroin right  but normally or when i wasnt a addict i would sneeze 2-3 times during my 8 yr stint with opiates when i was dtin i would sneeze like crazy i would ask fellow addict "FRIENDS" (not so much friends n e more) if they would do the same most said no at first then ended up saying  yeah i think i do but i at my worst sneezed pry 10 times and a bunch of times during the day like you are experiencing they slowly go down n down n down when i got back to 2-3 at at time i figured i was back to normal congrats on 30 days  we quit about the same time im 46 days today and ill say at about 35 days or so i finally woke up one mourning after 8 hrs of sleep and i about couldnt believe it so your not that far away from a great nights sleep 10 days later from that day if i wanted to i could pry sleep 12 hrs.....i thought i would dread sleeping for the rest of my life but i actually look forward to gettin summ zzzzz now and i dont mean zanys lmao  good job saying NO 2 those we all know how bad that monkey can b as well!!!! keep up the good work ......Inspire those who need the help and keep your ears open 2 those with wisdow greater than our own!!!
