Im almost 2 months off of opiates and I still dont get a full nights sleep. I go to bed exhausted but I wake up by 3 and just think and think. But it has gotten better. I hope you feel better soon. DONT GIVE UP!
Hi its tuff for the frst couple of months coming off methadone your body/brain goes threw so many changes....sleep seam impossible but hang in there it will come right now you just have to be happy with cat naps take sleep where it comes and know one has ever dyed of lack of sleep it will gradually get better ....keep posting for support good luck and God bless.....Gnarly
I'm looking for hypnosis apps, does sound crazy though! Atthebeach, I have accepted it, gonna soak for an hour or so, and then the new Stephen king and I are gonna spend the night together!!! Can't think of a better way to spend the night......day 37 and I have no intentions of ever using again.
i know hun trying to make light of a difficult situation. tomorrow is your doctors appt. they can prescribe something for a short time.
it is incredible what our bodies can actually endure. you are healing my friend. it might not feel like it at times, but each day you are closer.
try not to stress out about not sleeping, it is best as you did to just get up and go lay on the couch. listen to music, watch tv, read a book. just try to relax as much as possible, sleep will return.
did i tell you that you are doing awesome? bears repeating.
keeping on keepin on. better day are yet to come.
thanks for you kind words, it is more blessed to give than receive.
when i can send encouragement and it is received that is good enough for me.
looking forward to hearing a good report.

hi day 36 thats great !!!! no sleep that suck !!!! That being said and you may think I'm a nut that's what I thought of the person that told me to try this and do you have a cell phone you can get apps on if so go to hypnosis sleep free see what comes up I have a bunch On my cell and they work great for me the relaxation ones are great also ! good luck and I hope ya get some much need rest.
Yeah I've always that it was too, until I went 3 weeks without much at all. It seems pretty important now. :)
Almost sounds like Im suggesting a "shot" of something. not quite sure what that shot may be??! I meant "it's worth a shot" give it a try.
I know this probably won't help but maybe a shot...I did it when I was going through bad insomnia and RLS/RAS from both my pregnancies. I used a plugin from Bath and Body, scent Lavender/ vanilla in my bedroom. I also rubbed lavender oil on the bottom of my feet. Suppose to be very calming! Used this with my babies after shots too ;)
If anything, your room will smell absolutely freakingfabtabulous and you will have soft feet! ;) Hang in there friend! This too shall pass and so better and stronger for it!
:)
Sleep is over rated anyway !!!
trust me, I know exactly how you feel.....i average 3 hrs a night, maybe 4 if im really exhausted.....topped off at 80mgs of methadone, titrated to 10mgs and quit....have barely slept in two wks.......you just cant fight it, just accept that your not going to get much sleep, maybe for awhile,,,i walk around like a darn zombie all day......but i know it will eventually get better......I had no clue you could get these kind of withdrawals from methadone. I swear its the devils drug but what can you do? It is what it is. It will get better and just try and be patient!!! You can do this!!!
Well your getting clean now so that's what's important now.
Thanks. I appreciate the input, I think I need some of that crap that they use before surgery or something or the crap the oral surgeon used to put me under 18 yrs ago that is the reason I'm fighting this battle right now. He was handing out demoral like it wasn't addictive. Not that I'm trying to point a finger or anything, I made my bed........right
Yeah if it were only that simple.
Sleep was the biggest issue for me always even when i was using but i found zzz quil made by nyquil works AMAZING they say its not habit forming too. Good lucl!
Hi there, first, congrats on the 36 days! It certainly sounds like you tried just about everything for sleep! I know that this is one of the toughest nuts to crack! A couple of other suggestions that did help me. Make sure your bedroom is as dark as possible. Also, try to get it as cold as possible. Then you can snuggle under the warm blankets. The last thing is to just simply relax. Let it just come. Don't stress about it. One last thing is that I now take Alteril which does have melatonin in it! You can find it at Walmart. Surprisingly, it does help me!
Take care, I hope you will be sleeping well, soon!
It will soon get better for you. We have to take the bad with the good and I found when I quit trying to fight it, sleep began to come much easier, hopefully it will do the same for you.
Try doing some exercise, it helped me when I was going through it.
