day 5 :(

day 5 :(

well i have made it to day 5. although 4 was rough and it do not think 5 will be much better. it has more to do with mental things i think than w/d. my w/d symptoms are not near as severe, but although out of the ordinary for hydro w/d i have panic attacks... they are very very severe. i feel like i cannot breathe ... i get this wierd feeling in my stomach and get very very anxious. it completely consumes me. its very scary actually. i just do not know what to do about it... it seems i have to just wait it out ... yesterday i had 4 of 5 of them... i had to leave work and come home. i have alot going on with this as well... I am going through a divorce. it seemed kind of normal at first... until my X requested a paternity test because she doesnt believe that my daughter is actually mine. this is the first time i had to hear about this and it has devistated me because i love my little girl so much it cannot be described. My girlfriend works constantly. over 80 hours a week sometimes so i have no one to talk to about anything. so perhaps its just a combination of getting off the hydros and these other things, but im not sure how much more of this i can go through... its very very tough.

thanks for listening

Hi there,

That is a little out of the ordinary (for me at least). I have c/t the Hydo's many times on and off, and usually get the normal w/d's with muslce and bone sorness, flu like symptoms, night sweets etc.. I aways have felt more anxoius when quitting but.....not severe panic attacks.

You might want to check w/ your Doctor and see you can get some Valium. Usually for severe panic attacks, they will perscibe Ativan, Klonopin, or Xanax, but those are very pontent.

I know there a lot more in the forum that can help you about this. But as far for me, I take 10mg of Valium and tapered down the 7.5 Hydo's from 9 a day to 3 a day right now.

If it contiues that severe (your panic attacks) from the hydro w/d; then I would probalbly go and see the doctor. It's normal to feel anxious, but it sounds like your getting hit with something else also. I wish I could help out more!  I know there others in here that probably can.

Hope you find the cause of your panic attacks!

Yeah I hear you there!

It's a good thing that you have a doc, appt this week, so you can bring this matter up.

It is very, very common to use a sedative or Sub treatment, in helping the w/d's from the Hydo's. The Hydo's themselfs can cause anxiety, and alot of people use a mild benzo to taper or the go for the Methodone or Sub. treatment.

If your having panic attacks, with trying to quit c/t off the Hydro's then it sounds like you definitly need something to control them. As far as the Valium, until you Doc. Appt., well for most people that really is not a long enough duration of time to get addicted to. That is just my personal experience, and also the knowing what a lot of others have done regarding matters simular to yours.

I wish you the best until you get to the Doc's!!!

i think you may be right about the circumstances. i have alot going on in my life and c/t the hydro was just something that was added to the mess.  i think they are a result of that. i got a valium from a friend today and it seemed to work very well... i only took half of it and it helped me greatly. the good news for me is that i hate valium an i couldnt imagine taking them all the time. they have no euphoric effect for me and im thankful for that. hydro was my thing. its funny how these drugs effect people differently.

thanks for your comment and hopefully we can all make it through these times together. i much appreciate everyone here... im thankful i found this place

about the panic attacks. i hear you!! i haven't quit c/t , just trying to taper down as much as possible before having back surgery. my boyfriend and i broke up 2 weeks ago.we were very much in love. its been the hardest thing in both of our lives to do. weve been helping each other out. we both couldnt eat, sleep, and he also experienced a little bit of panic attacks. not as bad as me. he doesnt take any scripts. but he was thinking of asking a doctor for some valium. and he doesnt have any drug problems! i think maybe this is just really bad timing for you and i (coming down from scripts) to have emotional stuff going on. r brains arent equipped for it right now.ive ordered that herbal book for wd symptoms and going to try the natural route. drugs r what got us in this mess to begin with. just worried i might have a heart attack-44 yrs old.ive  tried valium as a teenager and had a blast taking it . bad idea for me!!!!
try to remember the things that kick our natural endorphines in. and im trying to control my thinking. happy things, funny, or things that i want and concentrate on that. hope this helps.

great for you stephen. i tried to find someone to get me started with suboxone. but i could not and i knew i needed free from this so i just said screw it...and did it on my own. im on day 6 now and besides my occasional panic attacks im doing pretty good today. im getting glimpses of what its supposed to be like not chained to that monster anymore and it drives me to continue.
good luck to you too!!! i hope you continue on your path to freedom.
