day 5 we made it thru, but had cravings

Well its the afternoon of day 6 for us. weve stuck to the thomas recipe everyday and its a godsend,,its a godsend we found this forumn :) day 5 we were very very tired, fatigued, zapped of all strength,if u could of seen the two of us leaning on the shopping cart at the grocery store you would of laughed!! had cravings talked and prayed each other thru them got better in the evening, we even went out and danced at the ski lodge all night, and had a great time, my sleep dr has prescribed me provigil in the past to help me stay awake at work, weve been using those, its non narcotic with no side affects and it helps very lil with the fatigue, but that and a few drinks got us out and dancing, something neither one of us had done in years! My fiance goes back to work tomorrow after taking a week vacation to detox, she is very nervous about going back, shes used percs everyday at work for at least a year jus to function, and afraid itll be a trigger big time for cravings.. thank god we can tex each other and she'll call every chance she can...please pray for her, plus i'll b home alone no percs, never done that before either.. ill be posting 2morrow thats for sure, keep copany with you guys instead of my crusher and straw

HI ....congrats on day 6 you should start to feel better here soon at least the physical part will be over now comes the tuff part the mental mindscrew we go threw after we get clen  I highly recommend plugging into some form of aftercare we always bring up both N/A and A/A because there free and available everywhere there are also conslors and therapist that specialize in addiction and most major health ins covers out pacent therapy rarely does someone make it threw this without aftercare.....im glad you and your girl had a night out dancing it always fun but a red flag went up when you said you had a few drinks
im old school on this one....a buzz is a buzz is a buzz and it is so ez to become cross addicted early on in sobrity you may wat to give that a break .....some of our members have a glass of wine over dinner for me personally I cant....I with you the best of luck in your recovery become pro active and get plugged in to aftercare and you will make out of this mess .....Gnarly

Thanks for your comments!  I'm thinking of you guys who are 3 days ahead of me.  Keeping you in my prayers.  At least we're off the roller coaster ride in satansville.   Don't ever want to get back on it. I love the saying, "If you keep doing what you've always done...you keep getting what you've always gotten."  But I add to that, you keep getting what you've always gotten and it will keep giving back worse!  God bless you guys!

Congrats on day 6 as gnarly cautioned you be careful not to substitute one drug for another. I personally don't feel that a couple of drinks in a social situation  will make you transition over to an alcohol addiction (I am not saying that it won't) but everyone is different and only you know if you have a problem with alcohol. I am just saying be careful as gnarly said " a buzz is a buzz is a buzz"  JUST BE CAREFUL. Also as gnarly pointed out aftercare is key as it give you tools and insight into why you used substances in the first place and how to deal with it [addiction]. I wish you great success and I hope that both of you keep going on the track you are on now. It is a truly wonderful moment when you finally feel in complete control of your life again. I will pray for you both and God will show you the way. God Bless---Rick
