day 9 off suboxone

day 9 off suboxone

Day 9 and Im back to normal. Still a little nervous i guess but I dont know why. But I have a question I hope someone can answer. I smoke cigs, and the best thing after a good ol oxy buzz was a smoke. Now that I havent taken an oxy in 6 or 7 months (I cant remember) maybe longer and no subs in 9 days and feel GREAT, smoking doesnt agree with me now. It makes my stomach kind of sick feeling. Not like withdrawl (withdrawal), just normal bad feeling. Could this be because the smoking had some connection to the oxy buzz because that was the time I was smoking the most? If that's the case Im on my way to quitting that too. As it is now I take about 3 drags, feel a little sick to stomach and put it out and save it for later. Is the smoke looking for the oxy "buzz" or something like that? Comon THEEAGLE, OChooked, North2south. You guys can help me with this one. (and whoever else helped me).

And If I do quit smoking, will I go through some kind of withdrawl (withdrawal) for that? I just had one now and took 2 drags and put it out. Its like Im smoking and dont even want to.

I know something similart happened to me..i lost my cravings for caffiene after i quit and to this day dont "need" it anymore...i used to love diet cokes and drank 3-4 a day and coffee in the am...i dont totally avoid caffeine but am ok without it...it was weird...perhaps something to do with the receptors...smoking stimulates all of the major receptors...i am sure caffeine stims some receptors or people wouldnt feel they need it

Thats the thing. I dont feel I need to smoke but I go ahead and do it anyway and feel like ****. I was with my friend at work yesterday and lit one up, took a few drags and said to him, I feel sick and put it out. I think youre right. Thanks. Youve also been a big help as I didnt mention you before.

Sorry Nattefrost ---- I am at a loss to help --- Probably because I haven't smoked in about 20 years and did not have the two habits at the same time.  Wish you all the best though.  I am so glad that you stayed on the site and I know you have helped others by your presence here.  I love it when people use the site and then return to help those who come after them ---  All the best to you Nattefrost.

Wish that I could be of more help here - you actually managed to find about the only substance (nicotene / cigg's) that I really dont have much experience with.....from friends attempts and research I would hazard a guess that worried is pretty close. Coupled with the fact that cigg's are probably as bad as methadone to detox.....they have very strong "legs".  Psychologically you are possibly hitting whatever triggers set off your smokes....possibly associated with either using or abstaining from the oxies....Its very fortunate that you arent getting any positive reinforcement from the smokes - makes them that much easier to quit!!  I hear very good things about patches, gums, and pills that aid in quiting the smokes......my take on nausea is that is most likely anxiety produced......and that will improve as you gain total control over the situation..........

I know exactly what ya mean.....went out last night and drank a bit to much and smoked a thousand cigs.. I still haven't had one today yet...and i'm thinking of quiting...actually I'm gonna quit! If i quit my gimmicks, after the hell i just went thru, smoking should be ez. I can finally say i feel like i did that saturday......100%!!!!!! Got alot of catching up to do in my life and owe a lot to ya'll for the help.

could be different for different folks...i do know that there is a theory that while u r getting clean and getting ur brain healthy..it is best to stay away from things that stimulate ur receptors as it can make u crave...we r trying to make those extra receptors we built "go to sleep" and is said it is better to let sleeping dogs lie...perhaps ur body is helping u out....even overdoses of chocolate can stimulate them..gambling can...shopping can...geeez///everything fun can! lol...but it is true that smoking affects more receptors in a direct way than any other drug making it hard as poo poo to quit..and that is why it is hard to quit ..it stimulates and relaxes u at the same time...i took a hit off a cig/ a deep one/just being silly i guess.. a few weeks ago...i was buzzing but i felt sick...ugh!  one hit and i was stoned for about 10 minutes....stronger than we think just adjusted to it...think it is called tolerence... i used to smoke 2 packs a day

but smoking is NOT relaxing me anymore........But I cant stop putting one in my mouth and taking a few pulls. I, too used to smoke not 2 but a pack a day but I regret it every time I take a few drags- just dont agree with me. I agree that cig feelings or whatever are looking for those receptors or however it goes. Just remember how AWSOME a smoke was after a oxy buzz. Now let it be clear that Im not craving oxys or anything like that when I smoke but somethings up. I smoke about ten or 12 a day but in 3 or 4 drags, feel crummy and save it. Why do I keep doing this I dont know. Im going to try to limit myself to a certain amt a lot much less and see what happens. Example: its 10:30 am in NY now and I smoked my last half last night. No real urgency to rush to the store, Ive been up since 7, I had these Japanese cigs some lady at my job gave all the managers as a gift sitting on my fridge for about 6 months and decided to open it and take a few pulls. same feeling. These were lights and i smoke newports anyway. I think I am at the point if i quit or dramatically cut down Ill feel even better, as I feel fine as it is. Thanks,878

in the brain, that makes it so great, cause samething when i got high,
the same feeling, smoking was great,,,,it must all be a addiction thing.

Im not a doc but I was on subs over 6 months and I think I tapered to quickly thats why I went into withdrawl (withdrawal). 10 days later I just wolfed down a wendys meal at work and I am blabbing up a storm and Im back to normal.(Especially my appetite). I lost some weight during the bad period. I would suggest tapering very slowly(especially towards the end) and you might get NO withdrawls but Im not a doc once again. Do you still smoke and if you do does it agree with you still since youre not doing the bad stuff? Keep in mind Im 37 yrs old smoking since I was 16 but before oxys I was smoking a few every few days if i was lucky. Most of my heavy smoking was during the oxy period. But taper SLOWLY and I know you will do it. I just still think the cigs are looking for that oxy "buzz" but its not there. Good luck and go slow.

Hi,thank you for any help i can get, I still smoke, but trying to cut down, but you know
im having a heck of time tapering off sub,s.but back to the smoking thing,Can you
try patches,im not using those yet, but just suggesting, and i always have cig,s
here for company, and there not my brand,i noticed if i run out of mine,i take one of
those and there terrible,so maybe try buying bad cig,s,and you wont want to smoke
them,,hows that for a anwser,,Any way like i said before i envy you, what you have
done with sub,s,I have to say im pretty scared,So i went from 2 to 1 1/2,then the
headaches and all started, short story,,so went to the drs,and we deceided to stay
with 11/2 till jan 1st,then start again after the holidays, hang in there buddy,
