day nine off vicodin

i took vicodin es 5 times a day for 7 months. i am on my ninth day without taking any. the first 4 days were rough. today for some reason i have been craving a vicodin. there is like a war going on in my head. one voice telling me to take just one, it won't hurt, and another voice telling me not to do it. this is the hardest thing i have ever gone through. does anyone have any advice? if i did slip up and take one would it be 4 more days of detox?thanks

9 days is a mountain!  Your addiction is trying to make you cave so don't.  Try doing something to distract yourself.  Exercise, movies, whatever you can to take your mind off of it.  It will pass over time, and you'll have these thoughts again.  Talking about them is important as well, so pat on the back for coming here for suggestions!

LISTEN to the voice telling you not to take one. congrats on 9 days, you have come a long way, but taking a pill now leads to another then another. cravings are normal and your still early off them so stay on your toes and don't let the mind games win. you are right, sometimes it's a war so fight the cravings cause they do disappear. one would not be 4 days more of detox, but one more is the start to a relapse and you don't want that. hang in there your doing great, BUT NO PILLS. good luck
