depression

i know i should post this on the depression forum but u guys r my friends and i know i can count on u all for great advice....as most of u know i have been having some terrible depression problems and i was wondering,since i have a dr.s appt today,should i ask her for some depression meds or ?...after my accident i was put on lexapro ....after about 2yrs she weaned me off that because she felt i was better.....i was at that time i guess because i was on oc's and didnt give a **** lol....now that i've stopped the oc's i've been having panic attacks and feelings like i had right after my accident......i'm just sad .....i have no desire to do anything.....everything scares the **** outta me and causes a panick attck......i have valium here but i dont like taking those.....does anyone know the best meds for my problem?do they have any new meds for depression other than lexapro ? and if so do they work?  .....this depression is not going away on its on.....my mom told me it was just all in my head.....not!!!!!!!!......any advice would be greatly appreciated.....love u guys and god bless us all.........

I would talk to your doctor. Do alot of people go on antidepression meds after they get clean?...my therapist told me last week she thinks i need something for awhile..i see her again today andi'll find out what she has decided...i am feeling better, but for the most part..no energy, no ambition..i only do what i HAVE to do and thats it.

Or is it just from the using that has created this depression..it's like i lost my lover going off the vics...well...i did lose my lover too...ha...double whammY!!!

u could ask ur dr about efexor-xr its another anit depressant ...it hardly has symptoms just makes u sleepy at night...I take them at night ne ways...

I'm taking 10 mg' a day. I'm ready to feel better too.
My head hurts,my eyes hurt,my whole body feels like one big cramp,throat hurts,tirred and my back hurts from being in bed so I got out. This has been going on since I quit and i'm getting real tired of it. I'm gonna drink alot of water today. Thinking I might be dehydrated. I know odaat but i really want some glimpse of what I was like berfore the pills. This headaceh has been there for 3 weeks. Its not excruciating but Its right between the eyes. The stomach is a whole nother story LOL. Oh well I'm sure it will get better.

i am sorry you are feeling bad....Do u think it is the lexapro? how many mg are you on?

Honey, i am so sorry you are going through this. Let me ask you this, when you were on the Lexapro, did you think it worked? How long have you been clean? Sometime, the depression is horrible. You may have PAWS, We are here for you, and you continue to post here. We are your friends....

Yes...absolutely talk to your doctor. I don't understand why she/he talk you off of the lexapro in the first place. Of course you felt better, the drug was doing what it was supposed to do...make you feel better. If that was working for you, you should definitely go back on that. We all need a little help sometimes. Coming off of oxy is sooo hard & it takes a long time to feel normal again. How did you come off of the oxy? Your strong girl, be patient with yourself!

Hey stranger. Talk to you doctor,there are alot of anti depression  meds. It sounds like you don't know if the lexapro was helping or not. Oxy im using lexapro right now and at this very moment I feel like crud,physically and mentally. I have'nt gone into work the last two days because of it and right now I don't care.

I would definetly ask the doctor to put you back on lexapro...I do not beleive it is in your head, at all...Panic attacks are real and scary...When i went c/t off of a benzo and i finally went on lexapro the panic attacks where gone in 4 days..i know they say it takes longer but for me it was quick...Then when i quit opiates i uped my dosage just a bit, and only had alittle depression...Nothing compared to if i would not have been on lex.

I hope you start feeling better....So proud of you for getting off of OC's...I would leave the valuim alone and see if the lexapro does any good...It is worth a shot.
