detoxification from methadone with oxicotin

Dear Doctor:
I have medical problems that cause intense pain.  I have been on 100 mg of methadone for 9 months.  I was a once a week doser with 6 take homes due to hard ship. The methadone was not releiving my pain. Tuesday, I saw an internal medicine specialist and advised him I was on methadone and needed to come off and have my pain managed.  He agreed to take me as a patient if I d/c from the methadone program and I advised methadone I would not be back.   He gave me "trigger" shots that had nubaine in them and I KNOW I was in immediate withdraw. Although he suspected I "had too much medication"  I was not overdosed, I was FLAT OUT IN HARD WITHDRAWL.  He also prescribed oxycotin 40 mg.bid the next a.m. after verifying my discharge from the methadone program.  and a benzo bid and wants to see me in 10 days. At any rate, I took 4 doses of the oxyicotin over the past 2 days and I am in withdrawl and very sick. He said if I was sick to come back and let him know.   I continue to have pain.  My question is.  How much oxycotin normally equals 100 mg. of meth.?

Just a little advice, Oxycotin is very adictive too. Just this past weekend (4-21-01) one of my best friend went through some of the worst withdrawls I've ever seen. Not that I see them all the time or anything like that. Just want to coment on the thing you said about how much Oxy to equal this amount of Meth. Both are just asa bad and it wouldn't be good to kick a habit so you can start another. I my self would snort Oxy 80 mg, so I know what I'm talking about.   GOOD LUCK
