detoxing from suoxone

Has anyone ever heard of using wellbutrin as an aid in detoxong from suboxone??
   Is wellbutrin an opoid? I do know that  buprenorphine is the  basic ingredient in both suboxone ( the subutex part...not the naloxone) and wellbutrin.
   We are curious to find out if anyone who has detoxed from suboxone has used wellbutrin to aid w/ depression...and what if  any success they may or not have had.

Wellbutrin is used mainly for depression.

Just curious why "we" would want to take a drug to get off a drug that got you off of another drug? It is a vicious cycle and somewhere along the line it needs to be broken.

I am positive Buprenorphine is not in Wellbutrin.   Suboxone contains Buprenorphine. Buprenorphine is an opiate.  Wellbutrin contians Bupropion -- although the names sound/look alike- Bupropion is an antidepressant, not an opiate.  Many addiction specialists recommend going on an anti-depressant while going through any detox.  Our dopamine, etc levels are extremely depleted from drug abuse and Bupe is a very strong opiate.  Obviously something to discuss with your doctor, but to answer in short - no Wellbutrin is not an opiate, its an antidepressant.  And many people and doctors recommend taking an antidepressant when beginning detox.  Always talk to your doctor about any medication you take though.  Good luck.
