tomorrow is the 5th day at that walk in ( if there is room) recovery home for my son. He was up to 600 miligrams of oxy ( i think anything he could get his hands on too). How many days does it take to really feel better? I read somewhere it could be a year? I pray they take him a residential center. Anyone have any advice? I have actually slept for 2 nights in a row!!!!! I know that is coming to an end again. Selfish right? I am so worried and scared.

b4 i went c/t i was taking about 50 mg a day and the last 4 days b4 ct i was on 30mg.  I was as high as 200 a day over a year ago but got myself to 80 mg per day then tapered from there.  I decided ct was best for me as i was already in so much wd just tapering i wanted to get it over with.  i just couldn't figure out why it was so bad in the evening..

i take zolfoft in the morning but that is all, and it is not very strong.  I have sleeping pills that i have been taking since last thursday, they are addictive and doc only gave me 15 i am wondering if they are hurting me also....they are helping me get 4-5 hours of sleep though.

that is exactly how i am feeling....wow that makes me feel alot better, i just get so scared something is wrong with me physically for this to be so bad still on day 8.  I am not sure if the clonidine is making the tingling worse or better.  I have cut back to 2 1/2 pills per day = .1 total for the day, it makes me sneeze like crazy... thanks so much...i guess there is hope for me yet!!

Do you have anything for the panic attacks...A mild benzo that you can take just to get you through...not a lot because you don't want to trade one addiction for another...
panic attacks are terrible...

yes i was taking oxy for back pain but i do not have any pain without the pills.  It is just the tingling that is so weird...it is hard to explain.  I scares me sometimes.

The tingling sensations were some of my worst withdrawals.  I'd get them in my arms, and all over my scalp, and face.  Mine were worse in the morning, and in the evening.  I think fatigue makes it worse, plus lying in bed with nothing else to think about can accentuate them.

It's all normal and part of the process. I also had incredible burning pain in my chest and back, like I was on fire.  And sometimes my arms and legs felt like they had sunburn.

As an added bit of encouragement, my biggest improvement came right on the heals of my worst symptoms.  Relief is probably right around the corner.

This is doable.  Your symptoms are uncomfortable and sometimes terrifying, but they are not dangerous.  Hang in there my friend!  A lifetime of freedom from this addiction is worth a few weeks of discomfort.

Hi..I am sorry you are still so uncomfortable. I don't remember your story but, were taking the meds for back pain by chance? Because I was and when I stopped the meds, my pain was still there. Actually, it was worse because it has be unattended for so long. Ist that a possibility with you?

as always you cheered me up again.  It is not my legs that are the worst it is the tingling in my head, arms and chest that bother me the most. It just freaks me out and i start to get upset and panic....i just hope this goes away soon.  thanks for letting me know you experienced the same, now i am not as worried about it.

you are not a pain in the neck!!! and don't ever feel that way...For me at in the mornings were terrible..it took everything i had to get kids to school etc...Could not wait to lay back down.
Then in the evenings it started again...i was so not ready for bed time because i knew i would toss and turn all night and end up in the tub with my legs...SO yes very normal.
But don't give up...Just give it more time..you don't want to do this again!
we are all here for each other, SO vent away....
my ear is always open...
