You know, I have really no idea, but I'd be surprised if they did. Usually your drivers license is taken when you drive under the influence. On a side note...have you taken steps to get clean? Was this a wake up call for you?

Thanks for the info beachtowel. I've always admired your candor. I had to plead dumb when it came to this. Mostly I was trying to start a conversation and see if this guy was clean or not. To me, losing your license would be the least of my worries if I were still using...

I had the same charge twice in my life it is a F-5

It also does not matter if he got his hands on the pills or not the charge is an automatic Suspension of driving privliges for one year........

If he can get it reduced to a misdemeanor and keep it in district court it is only six months.........

In Florida, the law is. You can not get a drivers license if you are addicted to drugs or alcohol. And your license will be revoked if you are found guilty of felony drug possession.I'm thinking you will be keeping your license if you have a lawyer. If I were you. Before you plea.Ask if you can go to court ordered rehab.........Good Luck.....

um... I dont think you can plead no contest to "obtaining a prescription by fraud"  I'm pretty it has to be a guilty or not plea

I just got the same charge here in PA.  Oh yea, a commonwealth state, the laws are alot stricter.  I phoned in a script (for a schedule 4 - klonopin) using a doctor's name and dea#.  It was a felony and I could do up to 3 years in the county jail.  My lawyer got me on a drug program for first offenders.  Thank God.

You will have your license suspended in the State of Indiana for drug charges.  It doesn't matter if it stems from actually operating a vehicle at the time.
