hello,
i am detoxing, although my doc prescribed the med. I don't feel good about it, I am on 12 mcg. of fentanyal patch, every three days, I don't know how bad it will be.
does anyone,

HI I i am 55 years old i am on the patch for 14 years i am sick always tried to get off so many times but no luck can any one help on how to get off ?? i had a broken neck and 11 spine compresses after being on the patch so so long my life is no longer my own.i feel so so sick always don't know what to do . i asked my dr. for help but no luck he tells me to stay on it. i just don't want to live any more i feel as if my life is over with no way out and no one to help . if you out there are not on this patch please please don't ever start please. dose any one know just what this dose to your body????? please if any one out hope please help there can give me just a little

i was on 300 mills of fentanyl every 24 houres so that should giv you some idea how bad i was to how bad you are i am now detoxed from fentanyl and on a low does of methadone if anyone has any questions or just wants to talk about how thay fill .belive me i no prtey much all of it its the worst drug iv ever got involved with my life ended as far as i was concerned but now im the happeyest boy alive and i fill alive and guess wat no pain iver so yeah 1 it can be done 2 if you have any questions i think im more than qulified to answer you gys i have a lot of experiance with the dreded fentanyl good luck keep strong

Having great sucess with the patch for my pain management. .
  You didnt mention what your taper from and how much or how long. I have read here the patch can be hard to detox from. Dificult w/d's. I hope your Dr switches you to low doese of a pill at the very end of your taper.

I was on the patch also, had me up to 50 mcg, it made me so sick and depressed I had to stop, I was then put on the oxycontin 10mg and still went through withdrawals though nothing like quitting the oxy's.  Really look into it and maybe some people on the forum have had the same experience, I read somewhere that morphine helped them a lot, didn't have to take it for a long time.  Good luck to you and don't get discouraged.

Yup we need a little more info. How long have you been on it?
I had the patch a while back but I just could not stand the way I felt on it.
I just took it off. I was on it for about 4 weeks

The patch can be a tricky detox. Alot of physicians will switch you to a pill to taper and detox from. How will you be detoxing? Or is the 12 mcg the start of a taper?
