I saw your site, and just had to drop in and say that music has been a big relief for me in getting through my past couple of days. Hope you find the music that works for you. Today is 8 days clean for me. Hang in there. And good luck.

funny you mention this. Today i found some of my old Tesla CD's!! i fogot how very much i LOVE their music! Ive been listening to them half the day and night now. TESLA is awesome.
And also, try the song "Change" by Blind Melon.....beautiful song...very inspiring.
Music was and is a very influental part of my life. And it helped me tremendously throughout my detox, and to this day. Linkin Park's "What I've Done"....got me through the first couple weeks....both times I detoxed....
Love and Luck...Lisa
I have found that when my withdrawels get real bad that I can grab my ipod, get in my car, and drive and feel so much better. The music, which has always been big for me, produces endorphins and that is what opiates does. I like Citizen Cope, Lucinda Williams, Willie Nelson, and Drive-by Truckers. Try Outfit by the Truckers. Not about addiction but in the first few lines there is as strong of a lyric as I have ever listened to. "I used to go out in a mustang, a 302 Mach one in green, Me and your mom made you in the back, and I sold it to buy her a ring". That is real life. good luck to all. This Christmas is going to be so good, huh?
God Bless,
Chad
Never posted before...9 days here for me! Had to respond to this question...Music was the only thing that helped me through this...Try Montgomery Gentry "Some People Change"..I watch the video on you tube about 10 times a day.
I love all sorts of music, though I'm partial to the Grateful Dead, Blues, older R and B, some jazz and bluegrass..but I found when I was kicking the pills I had little desire to listen to music...now that I've been off them for a while (80 days?) I love listening to music again.

I liked fast paced music while I am kicking the $hit out of the addict in me. It helps keep a good rythm while throwing punches.

Not one thing helped me when I was going through withdrawal - I just flat had to suffer it out. I am sorry I am being so negative but that is how it was with me. I have heard others here say that music, among other things like trying to stay busy, take walks, etc. helped but I just could not function on any level, it was that bad for me.
