keyhole... read my last post to you.

I'm not going into my thing again as the last time they wiped me away for being so slow... I see so many people here with problems for prescribed drugs and many answers also relying on presribed drugs... Anyone else think there might be a connection????

No... I think the problem is that there are too many people ith problems with prescription drugs.  We deal with ALL addictions here.

Any ideas on why someone with a beautiful life would choose to ruin it all, by taking substances that physycally and mentally are destroying them and also being aware enough to see it on those close to them, staying awake and hating it and then a day later being able to have another mental picture that it'll be alright,.. and do it all over again..
I'm not quite stupid enough not to know how stupid I am but not quite intelligent to know how to change it..   in theory it should be so easy, I can grasp the concepts, but then, another day and It's like a whole other mind takes over..

i think i get what you're saying.

in other words - you're absusing, every night you say "no more tomorrow!! this is horrible! it's not me and it's stealing my life!!"  then you get up and do it all over again?  day in, day out?

is that what you mean?

Addiction is a disease.  Cancer is a disease.  You need to treat the disease not just wish it were different.  When you're ready to stop there are many ways to do it.  No one way works for every single person.  
Try tapring, c/t, therapy and NA or AA meetings to find out why your addcition flared the way it did, get a support system, a quitting buddy, post here..... it's endless BUT you have to want it and saying you want it and REALLY wanting it are 2 different things.  They all start, however, with stopping, period, dot!

By the way, you're here, talking about it.  That has to mean something right? I don;'t know if you're spiritual but if you are in any way, pary, pray for the willingness to stop at firstif you must but get onyour knees and pray.
When I stopped coke and alcohol 5 years ago, I woke up and said I was either killing myself that day (which I was doing anyway) or getting help that day.  I chose help and haven't touched anything since.  
My prescription drug addiction is another completely different story but it was still a road I CHOSE to go down and I am paying for it in every sense.
