To answer your question Lonerme it is because you feel great and super when on meth, and you probably are horrible when you're withdrawing. To get a picture of what YOU is actually like you have to clean up, the you in withdrawal is definitely not the normal you. Please don't fool yourself on that one.

That is the beast of addiction. Chemical substances change our the brains work. They grab of your mind,body and soul and never let go. It's bondage when you need a drug to function normally. Break free and reclaim your life. You won't regret it.
Because to your brain being on the methadone is "normal" you'll have to be off it for quite awhile for your brain to start prosessing natural endorphins again. That's why all of us that took the opiates felt like death when we quit. Takes time to get back to "normal" whatever normal is.
