don't want to cave again on lortabs

I am a Lortab addict.  I was taking up to 10-15 a day which is horrible and embarassing.  I would go dr. hopping just to keep up with my habit.  I feel embarassed and sad that I let my life become controlled by a horrible addiction.  Well I ran out of my last prescription five days ago and decided to quit cold turkey.  Sadly this is the third time I have quit before, but this time it was the hardest.  I have felt so sad, sick, and down right crappy.  I have no one to talk to about my addiction because I will not tell anyone.  I do not want to burden my family or friends anymore than I have in the past.  So I figure this is my struggle and battle.  I thought i would come here to get some wisdom and support.  My MAJOR problem is that I have a refill on my Lortab prescription that can be filled on Friday.  A part of me REALLY does not want it because I don't think I can go through the control and withdrawals of addiction.  Another part of me can't wait to get it, which I hate that I have these feelings.  How should I handle this situation without caving again?  Is it normal to still have cravings after 5 days?  How long does this awful feeling last?  I would really appreciate any feedback and support.  Like i said this is the only place I have to talk about my problem.

Thanks for all your advise.  I will be coming here daily probably more than once to get the support I need.  I've got to get it out of my head that getting more pills will be o.k.

Please don't get that refill and if it is a written one tear it up, that will make you sick too, then come here and get the support I know all these angels have for you!  I KNOW how hard it is not to have anyone to support you at home, BUT I had the best support in the world right here on the net, I WASN'T alone and neither are you!  We may be virtual, in chat but we are all living breathing human beings behind this screen, and we are here for you.  If you want your life back keep on the straight and narrow.  I KNOW it is tough, but YOU CAN DO THIS TOO!
God Bless

OH YES!!! You will crave for a while, BUT it gets easier and better with each passing day!! I am on day 79!! You need to call that pharmacy and tell them to STOP the refill. Cancel it! Seriously. You know you have to quit someday anyway and you really are about over the worst of it!! Hang in there! Post here often. There are so many wonderful people who will truly support and encourage you, lift you when you are down, carry you if need be, and kick you in the rear if need be!! You could not have found a more WONDERFUL place for support!! You CAN do this!!!! Wishing you all the best the world has to offer and getting it CLEAN!!!!! (one day at a time)
