Hi my experience with pot is that it really isn't that addictive.  I have smoked pot on and off for about 11 years now... If I get into a routine where I smoke everyday then yea, i just want to have it everyday, but honestly after about the 2nd or 3rd day I don't even think about it anymore.  Of all the drugs I've done pot is almost about the least addictive.

For me alcohol has been the most addictive, followed by crack, then cigs, and maybe after that coffee.

Crack is probably the most addictive of those but just because it's such an extreme drug, completely unacceptable socially, and so bad for ones health I just made myself not use it anymore... but i rate alcohol higher because it's the one that prevails to punish more and more over all these years.

Honestly though THC is about as addictive as caffeine is.  So yea a joint to me is about as addictive as a coffee.  It's pretty harmless if you ask me.  And just like coffee if I after a period of long use I just feel like somethings missing, get anxious, just need that fix that I'm used to.  But mostly it's only addictive from your habit of using it, the chemical addiction of it is pretty mild.

But of course when you are high from weed you can't learn anything.  I've also done research on it and believe it or not but our minds actually have receptors to help us forget things, and THC actually stimulates these receptors.

Hey I was a chronic on the pot for maaaany years. Pot is a strong mental hook but can cause physical stuff--I would be anxious and very cranky if I didn't have my smoke. Finally I just said no more and started by cutting back--from rollin one practically every hour to 4 times a day, then 3 you get the idea. By the time I hit one it no longer had that mental grab on me. Now I
Don't even like the stuff. It makes me paranoid! Lol not kidding, just not my thang anymore. Start with dropping a joint here and there and work back. It's a mental thing with weed, occupy yourself and don't dwell on it. I wish to God oxy was as easy as pot was to get off. I'm struggling with a major oxy addiction now. Whatever you do NEVER and I mean NEVER get involved with that shitt. It's hell coming off of. You can do it! I'm a chronic from way back and if I can kick the crap anyone can! :) if you got off codiene then you got it in you to kick pot.. Word to the wise.. Don't use the pills to kick your pot. Seriously although both are bad, pot isn't near as bad as pills in my own opinion anyways.

Hi,

I think with your bi-polar disorder you need to see your doctor and get honest. There are no doctors in this community so I don't know what anyone can tell you really. Weed is not something that can be tapered so you will just need to stop and if you are having other symptoms when you do then again, a doctor is your best bet. Nowadays there are a lot of non-addictive medications that a doctor can prescribe. There is no reason for you to have to live like this.

I wish you the best and hope you can find some relief.
