drug problem! please help

i started using drugs (mainly pills) because I love the way they make me feel. im 17 and ive relapsed about 10 times with suboxone (im not proud of it, but i have a real problem). i feel like an empty shell of a person, like i dont quite know who i am anymore. rehab is not an option.  how can i be happy without pills? i quit using suboxone a little over a week ago, and used morphine and vicodin to help the comedown and withdrawals, but they just seem to have prolonged the withdrawals. life just seems so boring and dull/stale/awful/depressing without them. I know how to get off it, but how long should it take for me to be happy and not depressed. how long should it take be be content without them?

hello and welcome Brady. I read your other posts. has your  thyroid been regulated?
have you started back with your MMA?
you are so young. you don't want to try and use drugs to make you happy. if you have already used heroin you aren't heading in the right direction. you have already got yourself in pretty deep.
are you still using now?
you need to get your depression stabilized.
have you gone to a doctor for anti depressant meds?
have you spoken to a therapist about how you feel?
did you get more depressed when you had the diagnosis of mitral valve prolapse?
we are so glad you have posted and are reaching out.
please talk to us so we can give you some options to explore.

sorry to ask so many questions, but the answers will provide more insight.
sending prayers,
Debbie

Hi & Welcome,

Thank you for your honesty. I started using when I was 13 and began my DOC Heroin when I was 15. IF I had it to do over I surely would have chosen another road. Like you I relapsed over and over Until I was 54. Not a great life and I missed so many beautiful things and I screwed up so many beautiful things and hurt the people I love and I hurt myself. Bottom line..it isn't worth it.

You need help honey. You can't do this alone. You don't know how. None of us addicts do. The first step is to get humble and ask for help. Are you in school? Do you have a guidance counselor? How about a church pastor?

Tell us a bit more about your situation and we can try and make suggestions. More members will be along to talk with you. Stick around and be patient.
