false positive saliva test

Does anyone know why a saliva drug test would come up positive for amphetamines?? I am on methadone maintenance program and get tested monthly. I honestly have never done amphetamines. Only thing I have done is smoke a little weed. I have checked all websites for possibilities as to why this could occur and I have not taken any of the meds that can cause a false. I  am really baffled as to why I tested positive for amphetamines when I've never taken them or any cold meds that could test positive for it. Anyone know why this could occur??

Many cold medicines can lead to false positives for methamphetamine.

Also, Wellbutrin or trycyclic antidepressants (doxepin, amitriptyline) can do so as well.

Hi I agree with Froger  some one might have tryed to ''tune up'' your weed with some meth...also those tests get mixed up once in a wile I was at the clinic for almost 7yrs and got a test back for cocane  they agreed to retest the sample at my cost  (35.00) ant it came back clean  they did not give me my money back ether  have them run it again as you already may know it is all about the money at a methadone clinic  when your ready to quit we will be here for you   we have a lot of members that have beet this hideous drug  myself included  let us know how this turns out for you  until then your back at the clinic every day...............Gnarly

It could possibly be the weed. Weed nowadays is usually mixed with other drugs, it's possible it was mixed with amphetamines. Are you looking to quit?? If so, you've come to the right place.  Take care...
