fentynal detox

I have been on fentynal patch 100 micro for over 7 years.  I recenetly had a spinal cord stimulator implanted and am in the process of getting off of the patch.  I was taking the patch ever other day.  My Dr has given me morphine sulfate ER 150mg to take up the slack of switching the patch to every third day.  Has or is anyone currently going through same detox and how is it working.  My stimulator is just great and my life has completely changed for the good.

having ur doctor oversee ur transition will help so much...as a rule a fent patch is changed every 3 days and not every 2 days...but going to 3 days is a start..then often a doctor will then put u on a 75 mcg patch then 50, then 25, then 12.5...be safe with the morphine if u r still wearing ur patch tho as adding morphine can increase ur tolerance and it sounds as tho u trying to get off of everything?  if u have break thru pain is often the reason u have the morphin but switching to every 3 days instead of 2 days should not cause u to feel too much wd...follow ur doctors advice and u will be safe/but i always try to learn as u r/about anything i put in my body...morphine is strong as well/not a populare drug of abuse cos the high is not one that people seek out.,..but it is still a strong narcotic,,be safe and keep posting

I have to apologize to everyone for telling you about my detox.  After posting my problem I began to really see what others are going through versus what I am going through.  Sure I have aches and pains and am jittery but I am not facing anything like all of the courageous people you are in what you are dealing with every minute of every day.  I am so honored to be amongst a group of great people such as yourselves and the determination you all have in getting your lives back together.  You are all so determined and you will eventually meet the goals that you are fighting for.  Thankyou again my good friends and may god bless you all.  You are the best.

Very sorry that I haven't been in closer touch.  Hope that your streek is going strong.  I have been doing better than I thought I would.  Kind of hard but I am doing it.  I also am attempting to stop smoking after over forty years.  Started on the gum today and haven't felt to bad.  Dr & my wife think I am nuts with all the things I am facing now.  I don't as I have been through alot worse over the last 8 1/2 years.  I sometimes sit back and think where all the time has gone.  With this new stimulator my life is definately going to be much better.  Maybe I can give some quality time back to my wife who has been so good to me since I got hurt.  Hope you have a good night and I will pray for you each day to get to that big goal that you are striving so hard for.

Thanks for asking about me. I'm 17 days clean off the Fentanyl!
Feel pretty darn good.
The only thing that lingering is the insomnia. I hate that, but I'm an empty nester & my husband is on the road, so I can be as loud as I want at 2am.
My energy is MUCH better.
I think the reason you are having such a rough time of it is beause of all the other drugs.
Bless your heart! (I talk like that because I live in Alabama, LOL!)
I had to stop Darvocet too, but that's NOTHING like the opiates you have to stop.
I was lucky because my DR offered all kinds of stuff to stay in pain mgt, but I refused.
Don't know how in the heck I walked out of the office with no scripts except a few Valium, but I did. GOD had to have helped me. I never been that strong! EVER!

So sorry I overlooked you.  My head is not in the right place.  Thank you for your offer.  I was on the fentynal every other day for pain and now that I am weening off the Dr has stretched me out to one every three days.  Any comments you have will be greatly appreciated.

I am starting to get alot of pain all over my body.  This is the first day it has started.  I changed my patch last night and felt real good this AM but gradually went down hill this pm.  I have been holding off only taking the morphine sulfate 15mg till I really needed it but now I think I may take it twice a day every day.  I also have been on Vicoden 10mg/325 for about seven years normally about three a day.  I have only had one at 12 noon so I will take another before I decide to take the morphine tablet.  If I can hold off on the morphine tablet until it gets much worse I will.  I hope bigalspal that you are doing ok with your pain.  Hang in there gal.

I hope I'm over it by now. It's 2 weeks. I feel pretty good, except for the insomnia. That's brutal. We ARE gonna make it, Whipper!

I am detoxing with a Dr.  I have started by now changing patch every third day instead of every other day.  He also put me on  morphine sulfate er 15mg to pick up the slack.  I bet you are going through a real rough time doing it on your own,  I can't afford to do that due to all of the other drugs I am on.  This has to be a smooth as possible.  I will be on the 100micro for three weeks then down to the 50micro for three weeks etc. I really can't wait to get off this darn patch.  My shoulders burn and I really think that I have become tolerant of fentynal.  Well both make it.  Have agreat one and keep going.

I'm doing pretty good. Eating like horse! I need to gain weight badly, so it's OK.But my
stomach is way too full right now, so I'm a little sick form that.
No RLS tonight. I can't sleep, of course.
I've stopped taking the seroquel for sleep because it's a pretty powerful drug.
I did cut a Valium in half just a minute ago.so we'll see.
I have to be somewhere at 8:30 am. I have to start getty ready by 6am.
I know what you mean about the tiredness. That's my main problem. That and Insomnia.
It's day 14 now since here it's after midnight.
Man, Whipper, that Fentanyl is kicking my butt!
Much worse than Hydro's.
Are you completley off the Fentanyl, or are you tapering?
That's what my DR wanted me to do, but I knew I couldn't do that.
My husband wanted me to taper too. He was afraid I'd have siezure or something.
It made me that sick.
Anyway, going back to the bedroom.
I doubt if I'll sleep, but who knows?

Had a bad day yesturday.  Very tired.  I didn't realize I would be as tired as I was.  I have been taking fentynal every other day for more than seven years.  I had a bad fall in Oct 2000 falling down a flight of steel & concrete stairs.  Ended up with a fushion in my neck as well as my back.  Back surgery was not a success.  Suffering ever since until I was able to have the spinal cord stimulator.  It sounds like you are really having a rough time of it.  I give you a lot of credit.  It takes someone very strong to do what you are doing. Its 13 days today and counting.  Just think what you are going to feel like when you get hrough this.  A true fighter.  The only drug that I have had a very bad problem with was with palladone.  About three years ago I thought I had developed a tolerance for fentynal and Dr put me on this new drug.  I OD badly. Luckly got off of it quickly.  How did you feel today?  Is it getting rougher each day for you?  Stay tough my friend.  It will all be worth it in the end.  Have a good night.

This is day 12 & i'm still so restless.
Can't seem to concentrate on one paticular thing.
BUT, my stomach has finally settled down. No cravings or axiety. (my spelling sux)
That's good. Now worried about the RLS again tonight. It went right through the first dose of Seroquel. The funny thing is-the RLS had been gone for DAYS!
I hope it won't come back tonight, but I gotta admit I'm freaked.
Fentanyl RLS is much worse (at least for me) than Hydro RLS.
Been there done that. It makes me literally almost jog around my house.
Anyway, sorry to whine, but I hate the RLS more than ANY of the WD symptoms.
What's your worse WD syptom? Which do you hate the most IF you had to pick only ONE?

Just wanter to check on you. How is your Fentanyl detox going?
It's day 12 for me. I had a rough night. I hadn't had the servere RLS in days, but it came back with a vengence. What's up with that?
Didn't take any narcotics, but I did take an extra Seroquel & finally got to sleep. Dragged
out today from doing that, but the jerks had me up & almost running around the house.
