fiorcet/cephadyn

fiorcet/cephadyn

..I have been on fiorcet in the past for migrains and at the same time fiorcet w/codine
my headachs have gotton bad again and instead of fiorcet my doc put me on cephadyn.
i have researched and i see that the difference is the caffine in the fiorcet.
My question is .... my dr tells me fiorcet is a controlled substance and cephadyn isnt. .
does the caffine make the difference?  Thanks.  Excuse my terrible typing!  and thanks

Cephadyn contains butalbital; a barbiturate, and acetominophen;a pain reliever.  It is addicting and controlled.  It does not ,however, require a written prescription. Your doctor may fax or telephone the prescription to a pharmacy.  It is LESS controlled than Fiorinal because of the aspirin, not the caffeine.

I hope this helps...
