fiorinal w/ codeine effects

I am very concerned about my mother because she has taken firoinal with codeine for 20 years to relieve pain for severe headaches. She takes 4 to 6 pills a day. About ten years ago she tried to get off the meds by detoxing but she is back to her normal dosage.  She goes to every doctor that she knows to get more pills because her neurologist prescribes a certain amount. The doctors usually give in because she is so persistent. Her personality has changed over the past few months. She is very anxious, confrontational, and just not herself. She feels this is the only medication that will help her pain and I know she has pain but I am worried that she may one day over dose herself.  What the the physical effects of being on this medication for this period of time?

Well there are many side effects with oxys...Im not too sure about codine or even what that other medication is.....

however....
Restlessness,
irritable,
easliey frustrated.
quick temper
sweats
sore stomach
dirreaha
cramps..

There are many others...when you start goign threw wds...I did notice for me wtih oxys that  I was very irritable.....all the time and I was CONVINCED THAT i needed that medication and I couldnt live without it.....and I was very mcuh depressed and always felt yucky
