well, i was a 50/day habit. Lortabs..10mg...I went CT..beat the wds and for the pain took some percs today...I hate that. but i needed some relief. Im tired of hurting. Prayers for you though...You can do alot you think you can not do. Your body can take much abuse..and coming off pills is just something you experience...like a high, but opposite. If you can do something positive for yourself then do...you'll thank yourself for it.

hey mike,
definitely no subs. just switching addictions again.after many years of abuse it is going to take awhile for you to be better. this is very important for you to understand this and be prepared mentally for it. you were doing it, you felt like sh*t, that is expected. it will be a week or 2 of acute symptoms considering your age, years of use. you need to be patient, time will heal your mind, emotions, soul, body and spirit. cut off all your contacts, change your phone #,people, places and things. go to na meetings, go to a counselor,go to church
your desire to be clean has to be stronger than your desire to continue to use.
yep life can be very painful, death, sickness, everyday trials,....it is essential for you to live life on its terms and not always use to numb the pain. counseling is so crucial to get to tthe bottom of your pain, scars, hurts, sadness,it is so deep down in your soul now and needs to come to the surface and be dealt with. please look for a church. the LORD is able to do for you what he has done for my husbands recovery and the for the  healing of our family. you have been trying to do it on your own,
i am praying for you, my GOD is able to deliver you

DONT GO TO SUB......if you have a 25 a day pill habit or an I/V habit sub is for you but you have already kicked.....sub is a program where you take a very strong narcotic (wont get you high) in place of the distutive narcotics you are taking to break free from them you say on it a wile go to aftercare and when your ready you ween off once your strong enough to stand on your own 2 feet the wild card is the withdrawals .......some people come off sub at 2mg with little or no problems others take the stuff down to crumbs and go threw horrid withdrawals for weeks ....its a crap shoot you never know till you try and get off of it ..........to me your not a canadent for sub and I would think long and hard before jumping from the frying pan into the fire we have had many members have a ruff experence coming off of sub DONT BELIEVE THE DOCTOR!!!! go to the top of this page and put coming off of sub in the search box it should show you some of the storys there not alll bad but theres enough of them that are.....that unless this is your last resort I wouldent do it ....its not that uncommon to fall in the first month thats why we strongly activate a good aftercare program your addiction dident stop just because you quit the pills it goes deeper then that and has to be treated please dont try and skip over this critical step good luck and God bless.......Gnarly

relapse isn't the end of the world, it is very common with addicts, as the other poster said you just can't beat yourself up over relapse.  If you do, it will probably only cause it to happen more.  Self Forgiveness is a powerful thing.

The first step after relapse is to pick yourself up and go forward. there is no sense beating yourself up over it--you can't change what happened so learn from it.

My suggestion this go round is to do things differently. Find out what is missing from your recovery and add it to the mix. If you got high to deal with your feelings, then you may want to explore why that is necessary, etc.

I wish you the best.
