forgiveness

how is it possible to forgive someone from your drug past. I have been clean for 3 years off crack cocaine. i am very happy for the most part but i just keep feeling like i need to forgive.

Perhaps you need to forgive yourself the most. I am all too familiar with the burden of guilt, but am working on learning from my mistakes so I can move forward.  Three years is amazing and you deserve some good in your life after that.  Move past your past.

reading your post made me think of what I went through today. I saw my psyc doctor for the first time being out of the hospital.  He asked me today who do you feel you can't forgive in your life. I said my dad (which was horrible for me) but he told me before you can forgive anyone in your life you have to forgive yourself.  sometimes that is the hardest thing to do.

People we love..and who love us back..have forgiven us because they love us...my theory only
Forgiving ourselves is often the hardest thing to do...but can also be the most important as well..
Letting go is hard...addiction is a destructive disease..perhaps forgiving ourselves is part of recovery...and letting go   (:

Welcome to the forum and congrats on 3 years clean from crack, that is awesome. Crack is a tough drug to beat. I am a coke addict also, although I am addicted to all drugs, even the ones i have never tried, lol. Who do you need to forgive? For me, I had to forgive myself first and then could forgive others.

What helped you get clean? Stick around here, it's a great support group:)
