BTW...this dr also said that zoloft and paxil were the best ADs for those with an anxiety disorder/or high anxiety///so zoloft should also be a good choice for u
i posted it...i am a nurse and found the article and posted it...it was written by a well known addiction specialist from the UK....it is very informative if u decide to take the time to read thru it...it is examples of tapersh this dr used for different benzo addiction which often include stepping down to a weaker benzo...i am in the medical profession and do alot of research on addiction...this Dr spoke at a seminar I went to in New York...I was very impressed
thanks for pointing me towards the article i just printed it out this was posted by a doctor?
medhelp.org/health_pages/Addiction/Tapering-from-Benzodiazepines/show/592?cid=66
often if u post a website addres, medhelp will delete it....but this very informative article can be found in the Health Pages on this screen..to ur left under DISCUSSIONS...there r 3 pages of articles in the health Pages...this one is entitled "Tapering off of Benzos"
Let me know what u think
How do i find this article?
Klonopin is a slow onset/long lasting benzo unlike xanax and ativan...if ur dr is helping u with ur taper then u should be safe..I am sorry/well not really (:/ that i have no experience with benzo addiction but some here have..and i have read alot about it..lerned some thru posters here...a slow taper is the only way to go and u sound as if u have that under control....there is a great article on benzo tapers in the healh pages..many will drop down to a weaker benzo like valium, chlorazepate or librium in the last stages of their taper..the jump off..a slow process and unfortunately many drs do not know how to taper someone off benzos with the least amount of wds
The article in the health pages actually came from a well known English DR who specializes in benzo tapers...posters here have printed it and taken it to their dr to give them an idea on a benzo taper without alot of discomfort and has actually worked..and the dr was open to the info...not every dr knows how to do all of this addiction stuff..just cos they r a dr does not mean they r GOD...unfortunately some drs think they r GOD..but most know if they need a guide to sumpin they r not accustomed to doing
good luck to u...keep us posted...u seem as tho u want this/op;us u have a plan///more power to ya!
