for most of us our problem stems from NOT being able to use as directed, i think there are certainly cases where a substitute can be used but again that depends on your ability to take as prescribed amd your determination to get off af ALL life controlling drugs. when you see a post by fladdict ask her how she did it. she"ll be more then happy to help you,gl

IF you doc is certified to prescribe Suboxone/Subutex that is one route.. If you doc is NOT certified he will probably either give you a weaker med and taper you and/or give you clonidine, sleep meds, some thing for nausea, something for anxiety. Every doc is different.. there are lots of options and lots of meds that can help. He will also encourage you to get a support group of some kind, whether that is AA/NA or something... outpatient treatment helps some.  The important thing is that you detox from the meds but also change your behaviors.. its gonna be hard staying off drugs if you stay the same.. Myself for instance I am just trying to take better care of myself in general, something I neglected for some time because of the pills, I am also making attempts to spend more time with my hubby and my friends.. reaching out to people instead of isolating like the pills made me do..
