going to detox off oxy

I been doing oxy and perks bad now for about 6 months, i really want to quite so tomorrow im going to a detox place to get help.  Has anybody done that and what happens to you, im scared to go

My detox facility trip....Yeah not so good. Now mind you this was a "free" city ran facility.I called before i went to find out if it was a smoking facility and how everything was going to go. They said it was a smoking facility and that they give meds to help w/withdraws. When I got there they gave me some muscle relaxer (started w/B I dont the name).It did  nothing.Then they showed me where i'd be sleeping and it was a room w/8 beds in it that had an overwhelming smell of vomit.I figure what the hell I probably wouldnt sleep anyway.BTW I got there @ 1pm.Well when i asked if i could smoke they said they take breaks every few hours.HOURS??(5 to be exact).I smoke two packs a day when i'm not in w/ds.Well i found out the next smoke break was @5pm after dinner(if you wanna call it that). Well come to find out they dole out your smokes.1 evry 5 hrs and 2 after dinner.

Im not gonna go into all the details,but basicly i felt like it was a drunk tank.Nobody wanted to be there most were court ordered.Other than that it was just like being in a hospital just dirty. I figured if i was going to be uncomfortable i'd rather be at home. Needless to say i checked out.

This was only my experience i dont know what kind of facility your thinking of going to. It wont hurt to go try.Im pretty sure if you check yourself in you are able to check yourself out.Just ask. If you dont feel like its going to work for you,just check out.

Im not trying to scare you more than you already are, this is just what i experienced. I heard there are some good ones if you have insurance(i dont). I ended up going to the ER the next morning and they gave me clonidine(sp) and xanax.It REALLY helped,with the mental part anyway.Good luck hopefully someone will have a good story for you
