ADDICTION: SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMUNITY
gotta tell everyone!

gotta tell everyone!

I'm overly excited I think... for the first time in 3 yrs, and 29 days of h3ll! My clean time has officially made me open my eyes! For the past 29 days, and gladly so... my hubby kept me on collar and leash, well today has been very different! We got our income taxes back... a good bit of money mind you ... and my hubby hands me 300 dollars before he leaves... amazingly enough, I no longer hear that nagging voice! Instead I'm going shopping! I love this! Not feeling like I'm wasting my money, my guard is up very high because I know my vulnerability ... use to think wow I can get ten subs for 300 ... not today friends! I'm gonna go buy me some new shoes and maybe and outfit or two! Love this feeling! Just thot I'd share my triumph!

Congratulations...and definitely go treat yourself, you deserve it. Life is great without meds; hard to understand when you're using, but it's a fact. Hopefully any new people on the forum will see your post and be inspired. Way to go.

Good for you!!!
I did the same.  Got a pretty large tax return and treated myself, to the tune of thousands but a couple rather larges purchases that needed to be made last year, ie- new bed, payoff of a vehicle loan, but w/ my using last year, they weren't important to me.
So yes, go treat yourself, you deserve it!

Thanks so much for your replies! I had a great time today spending my reward money... took my kids and my mom, bought some clothes, dinner, and the most adorable pair of shoes! I can't wait til my hubby gets home and I can show off my purchases! And just in case he wonders, for his security, I kept all receipts and the money that was left. Not only will it make him feel better, but it gives him piece of mind, knowing I'm trying desperately to regain his trust. I hope and pray to god that I can continue this process of recovery with the same rewarding feelings, that I've had all day! This is my self reward and nothing can spoil this for me...
