has anyone heard of w/ds after please anwser

if someone has been on klonopins for 6 yrs 1mg 2x aday and then dropped to.5 3 x aday ,can they have w/ds from that? my dr says no. please help.

Hi,
When I quit Klonopin.  I went to 4 different doctors, before one actually believed a person can have withdrawals, from Klonopin and helped me taper off, with the support of forum members.    

The doctor that prescribed it to me, said it was impossible to have withdrawals, I was only taking .5mg once a night for sleep.  He told me to just cold turkey.    

He was wrong !!  3 day's later.  I was ambulanced to the ER, going through convulsions, I was put on morphine all night, just to calm my system down.  So yes, a person's system can go into shock, reducing the med to fast.  

Well it's been 20 months, since I took my last Klonopin pill, and the journey has not been easy.  

If your not comfortable with your doctor or pysch, then find someone that is willing to listen to you, care for you, understand you.  I hope no one ever has to go through the experience I went through, from an uncaring doctor.

SO sorry you are going through that. They tell us to advocate for ourselves but then do not listen when we speak. How frustrating...
I, personally, would find another psychiatrist. If a person is not truly listening to you how can they help?

thanx very much for writing me back it means alot to me, i know im not crazy i know how my body feels. but she made mw feel so stupid you know. you know i thought shrinks are suppose to help you not humiliate you excuse the spelling. write back soon  jennifer........  :(

I have had drs/nurses tell me I am not withdrawing too. That is so frustrating because the person telling you that you aren't withdrawing has probably never been on narcs, and only gets thier info from the medical journals and such. So if the insert says you shouldn't have w/d's then they think we are lying. Uggg...I hope things get better for you!

she just out of the blues cut me down, today she was really hateful with me , she upset me really bad when i told her i had been to the er, because of w/ds she said i was not having w/ds, i thought a shrink is there to help you not call you a liar, and make you feel like your an inch tall you know what i mean? she humiliated me. she was very mean to me today. she said i could get another dr if id like. so anyway she said shed see me back on the 9th of feb and she only gave me 84 .5s and im suppose to be on them 3 times aday. so she cut me short 4 days and the one im suppose to have the mournig i go back. so i dont know what to do, shes got me afraid to call her the way she treated me. what would you do?   jennifer.....   :(

i tried to tell my dr , that i was having w/ds but she told me i was not. i even had to go to the hospital, and they put me on clonidine which that made my blood pressure go to low.she just as same as called me a liar, that upset me so bad, she said shed see me back next month on the 9th and gave me 84 .5s to do me until then. but i figured it up and she cut me short about 4 days and the one im suppose to have that mourning before i go. she had me so upset in there today i could have chewed nails. anyway if i wasnt going through w/ds why did the dr at the er put me on clonidine? he said it would help with the w/ds. i dont think she knows what shes talking about. thanx for the info write back soon, jennifer.....   :(

YES you can  many have. You have to go very slowly if not there can be some very serious side effects.If half a pill is too much try a quarter dropping about every two weeks tends to work .

I don't see a whole lot of difference in 1mg2xday going to 0.5 3xaday.Why the change, Did you need a more continous flow and He didn't want to up you to 1 3xaday ? ? Their are definantly withdrawls from Klonopin ,, but stay with what he wants a little longer and see if you adjust Sometimes less is more. If not be sure to call him back....Take care and good luck.
