by coletrickle, Oct 13, 2008 10:14AM
I've been on suboxone for 10 days and I've had a headache everyday.  some days worse than others.  does anyone have any similar problems like this and if so what works to help get rid of the headaches and nausa that goes along with it.

sounds like you may need to adjust your dose...it may be too high.  let your dr know and see what he suggest.  i dont think you should feel headache and nausa  after 10 days.  good luck and let us know how you are.

I agree with Cathy and Avis that the dosage may be too high.  The worst of my headaches came on very high sub doses, although I got a headache every single day I took sub for almost a 2 year period.  Many days just dull, some days very sharp headaches.  In the beginning they were awful and had me floored for a week or two.. My body did adjust and the nauseousness/dizziness and severity of the headaches improved..  The only thing that remotely helped with the headaches was 2 advil and 1 tylenol sinus, which I took every morning right after I took the sub.  Also, I found that caffeine really made the sub headaches much much worse.. I had to give up anything over a small cup of coffee each morning.  Try to avoid caffeine at all costs.  Good luck on your journey.

To: im with ya on the headaches
my head also pounds when i take around 6mg of sub. i have to take 600 mg advil but that takes a while to work. today i only took 4 mg in the morning and no headaches, i just cant pick up a paper or try and read anything or i'll nod off, like im on methadone or sumthing !!  this stuff kicks the sh** out of you. Don't like it at all, gonna tell my doc that im lowering the dose whether he likes it or not as i can't handle the high dose he wants me to be on.....16 mg !! 8 every 12 hours, no freakin way, maybe ill do 4-6mg at most till i taper off that to 2 -  4 mgs and then taper off that to 2 mg a day, listen what the people here say, they really know as they have been through it. good luck on ur headacheless journy my friend !!......

mdan,
I would talk to your doctor about going lower as well .You should not be nodding off while reading with sub. Less is more alot of people are fine on 4mg or less you may be one of them.
