Yea, seems to be happening to me. I tried one of my wife's migraine pills and it seemed to work. With me it seems like everything hurts. I have also had a few drinks here and there but don't recommend that to anyone cause it has proven bad for me in the past.
This is pretty normal. The opiate receptors in your brain are no longer getting endorphins and you brain isn't producing them on their own b/c its been getting them from the meds. Your brain is also not producing its normal amount of GABA or serotonin( all neurotransmitters involved in taking opiates) I won't get into the specific chemical actions that are going on in your brain but basically your brain is working extra hard to produce endorphins and other neurotransmitters that it hasn't produced in a long time and "OUCH"! Your receptors are unhappy and your brain is working over time.
This is why tapering is always better for the body and tapering also minimizes the permanent damage done to some of your nerve cells. If you are already tapering then this means you are tapering too fast.

I tried the tapering and it was successful was clean for only 2 weeks though so now I do it this way. Thank you all for your input. and I remind you that ULTRAM IS THE DEVIL IN DISGUISE
hehehehe is that what ur coming off of? I really have never had any of the experiences with untram that anyone else seems to have had. My husband gave me one of his for pain that hydrocodone, over 80mg codeine, over 1600mg motrin and 1000mg naproxen did not work for. And suprisingly it took away the pain without any type of high. I never felt anything taking ultram. It was like drinking a glass of water but it took the pain away. It isn't effective on any other type of pain for me but it was awesome that day.
I hope my last post was helpful xoxo- D.
