How many mg will your taking? Did you taper off? The reason you felt fine the first 3 or 4 days is because of methadone's long half life. It stays in your system longer than a fast acting opiate so the withdrawals last longer. If you didn't taper down to a low amount you may want to consider doing so.
But since you have been off of it for a week you may want to tough it out. I've heard that it can take around two weeks for the worst of the physical withdrawals to subside. You can check out the amino acid protocol in the health pages which you can find the the upper right hand side of the screen. It lists some vitamins and supplements that can get your body back on track a bit faster. Also be sure to eat healthy, push the good fluids, and exercise.
There is a member here who's screen name is Gnary_1. He is very educated when it comes to getting off of meth. It's kinda slow here this time of night but I"m sure he will be around and will see your post. He will give much better advice when it comes to methadone.
Hang in there. It does get better!

How many ml were you taking when you finally made the jump? No matter how low you go you will still have some discomfort. There are things to help such as exercise, eating healthy, pushing the good fluids, and the amino acid protocol. Even if you aren't that religious lean on God for support.
I messaged Gnarly_1 so I'm sure he will be around here soon to help you out.
Hang in there.

HI welcome to the forum....well your right in the middle of methadone withdrawal ...it takes a good 2 weeks to run its course on you the first week being the hardest with the physical stuff but week 2 can lay you out like you got ran over by a truck...NO energy is just a fact of life in the early stages of detox...you where on it a long time so was I ...it was 6 1/2yrs for me and theirs another member here that's detoxed many times from it and says its the length of time your on it that makes the difference in the withdrawal ...on the bright side your a week into it so the physical part was over for me in about 7 days but the energy slam you get the second week is debilitating ...its going to be a wile b/4 you start to feel better each week you put between you and it is slow progress...you start to notice improvements at 30 60 and 90 days  as for the sleep thing theirs not much you can do..sleeping pills will put you to sleep but not keep you asleep so it kinda su##s at first...a hot bath right b/4 bed helps a lot  try not to get discouraged there is light at the end of the tunnel ...you just don't know how long the tunnel is...I got 177days under my belt now and things are back to normal but on one hand I dont want to discourage you but on the other I want to be realistic in how long it takes to get better...it goes in cycles you will start to feel better then a new symptom will pop up and set you back but as long as your moving forward you will get better its just going to take some time..start pumping in the vitamins and amino acids..and aftercare is a must detoxing off methadone weather it be N/A OR A/A or a substance abuse consolor you need to get something in place you can never get to much or start to soon...try and get out for some exesorsize it helps also...I know its hard when you dont even have the energy to get up off the couch but it does help...methadone is a monster to kick but in the end when all is said and done it is so so worth it ....good luck and God bless......Gnarly
