Oh you poor thing. four hours and nobody responded. Sometimes these posts drop down the list quickly because of a lot of activity on the crazy posts. It is so hard. Don't give up. If you are on 12.5 mg/day you are so close to the finish line and can get to a point soon where you are no longer a slave to a substance. Sometimes a drop in dose is easy and sometimes it is just torture. But the torture doesn't last, it does get better. I see you're young, you will be able to heal and completely recover and it will be worth it. You will get your real life back. Anytime you feel just awful try to tell yourself that you can suffer through whatever it is for one day and then see if you don't feel better the next day. Work with your doc on a tapering schedule you can handle and expect some pain on the way down. But soon you will start to feel better every day and that is the life you deserve. Good Luck.

hi and welcome to the post....well on the bright side your down to 12.5 or mabe 12mg
of methadone ....a little info is needed so we can help how much were you on??
and how long where you on it??? ive walked off 150mg over 8 /12 mo so i know what your going threw....when you get down below 15 things get tuff but it is doable if you taper slow enough ...I did 10% every 72hr some times longer depending how i felt
just know its always not ruff it seams you hit road blocks somtimes, It sounds like
your at one now ...so give your body some time to adjust 5days to a week and you should start to feel better the last 10mg are the hardest, but doable .....I droped 1mg
ever week but went thew withdrawals for 4 days each drop ...you just got to want it bad and be willing to be "ok with not being ok" for a wile, the withdrawals sux but it is manageable and sobriety is so worth it in the end...im 5 days clean today I still am
having withdrawals but I know in time they to shall pass...good luck and post your story with some details there are many here who care and can help...gnarly

Everyone hit "bumps" coming off of methadone.  But like gnarly said, you'll get a lot more answers if you give us some more information.  Like how high of a dose did you get up to and how long did you stay there -- and what has your taper schedule been like recently?

I'm kind of confused about the 12.5mg dose and you having a problem dropping .5mg.  I've never heard of dropping by .5mg, but what do I know :)  The good thing is that you are at a low dose now and you will be free of all of this before you know it.  Good luck and please post again...
