Well... it stays in your urine for 3-4 days... Hair is a whole other story... it is literally stored inside your cortex of your hair... that does not come out..Usually it has to grow out.. I am a hair dresser for 8 years and know a good deal about hair structure and  hair chemistry... I have worked with cancer patients to help remove chemo residue from there hair and follicles... It doesn't come out all at once..
Maybe someone else will know of something... If you have a prescription then you can show that to the tester and show proof you take the medicine..

I found info that says opiates are rarely detected through hair if you have only used them in the past week.. However through hair testing they can see back as long as the hair... kind of like rings in a tree trunk.. its usually a 90 day detection period... so if you have used in the past 90 days they will find it through the hair test..

I have personally never heard of an employer doing a hair drug test for employment. From what I understand, to do a hair drug test, they need a sample as big around as a pencil. I can't imagine any employer asking for that (short of the FBI or NSA). I do know that they do these hair test thing is done in coroner's cases a lot. I'd say give it 4 days or so and you should be fine.

Lots of employers do this.. I have a client who had to take one to work at Busch Gardens amusement park.... she was 18.. she had a huge chunk of hair taken... took forever to grow out.. I see this alot being in the hair business.. The only sure fire way to get it out is to bleach it beyond an inch of its life... but what right minded person does that???
