Hello. sorry you are going through this in the evening when few are on. Nosebleeds are not usually a withdrawl symptom of opiate withdrawl. This doesn't necesarily mean that it is serious. Alot of coughing and runny nose is common and it may be from blowing too hard. Is is alot of blood? Put an ice pack in the back of his neck and see if it stops. High blood pressure can cause a nosebleed but I doubt if that would be happening. I know it is scary but hang in there. Try the ice and see if the nose bleed stops. Corey
Could be blood pressure. Can you check that?
Im not exactly sure if nose bleeds are "normal" or not, although I wouldnt worry too much about it unless theres some severe bleeding. Did he used to sniff the oxycontin? If so Im sure theres some damage to the vessels in his nose, so I assume they could be more likely to bleed. Hopefully someone will come along who can give you some more solid information. If things get to bad you can always go to the er and have his vitals checked, make sure his blood pressure isnt too high. Ive been in your sons shoes so I know how difficult the w/d's are but hopefully within a few days he should slowly start to feel better. I wish you and your family the best of luck, take care.
