help sister with morephine addiction

sister is taking 500 mg of morephine a day, i know she is addictied. she has had a drug problem, beging in her teens,so that is 25 yrs.
she has found a dr who will give her this amount of morephine.
i know she is in a great deal of pain becouse she has RA.
but i do not think she needs this amount, neither dose her husband. we have tried talking to her, but she will not listen to anyone.
but she can tell you what kind of pills to mix to get what she calls a great high.
she will not admit that she has a problem.
i love her. and i am so afraid that sometime she may take enough and go to sleep and not wake up! please, if any one can help to let me know what i can do.  vickie

addiction is  UNBELIEVEABLY powerful, many people have given families lives and fortunes to continue to use drugs/drink. the best thing you can do is take care of yourself, if you have energy and resources left over then you can share some with your sister, but she will likely take everything you have and more, its very difficult to make someone high on drugs see sense.in fact its completely exhausting and usually unsucsessful.

you first, she if and when you have some left (energy, money, love, food, time etc etc).

she started taking the morphine about 3 yrs ago, it is in pill form. i talked to my brother in law the other day, he told me that she is getting to the point that she dose not know what is going on around her. he said he can tell her something but at times she dose not understand the simpliest things. he has called her doctor, and told him what is going on and that he thinks it is all the pills she is taking.
i know there will be trouble if she finds out that he called her dr. she can be very vengfull when it comes to drugs.
we are at a standstill, by law there is nothing we can do, unless she passes and can not talk for her self.

What will happen is she will go to sleep and stop breathing........

25 years of heavy drug use....Morphine 500mgs a day.....how is she doing the drug?
