help with nose please

Hi all i have used coke on and off now for 3/4 years lately i have noticed that the inside of my nose (mainly the right side) is wearing away there is no hole. I am quitting but was wandering will this heal? i have a saline nasal spray to keep it moist, i hear that you have mucosal tissue around the septum? and that this can grow, i hope i have not damaged the cartilage i cannot see any cartalidge as far as i know it is red up there and cant see any white cartalidge/bone. i wouldnt normally post on places like this but i am getting mixed views about this and would love an answer, has any one else experienced this?

i overdosed, went into convulsions, started gagging and popped 2 ribs in my back. i could not get up for 5 hours so i had to wait to get help, but that's what it took to get me clean. i like doing things the hard way:)

do you mean how do you recognize a craving? well for me it goes in stages. those thoughts of coke enter my mind and that i can't help, then the thoughts of how good it made me feel at first and telling myself it's ok if i use just one time. the mind starts playing games and you talk yourself into using. this is the point i seek help and talk about it, cause if i reach the 3rd stage, which i call coke mode, you really don't stand much of a chance. you should not be around coke at all, you may be fine and not touch it a couple times, but it will get you. man, i sound like im preaching, but staying clean from this drug takes work, but it's worth it to me. it took 5 years, an ambulance ride, and blowing over $100 000 to quit, so it's not easy

the hardest thing i have had to do to get off coke after relapsing maybe 30-40 times was give up so many friends. i can not walk in a room with people doing coke, i physically get sick if i see it. i don't want to sound negative, just being honest, but the initial craving does not go away in a week. i have read and from my own experience the best way to handle a coke craving is to talk about it and get support. i have been here since december and after all this time for me it's crucial for me to continue to get support, i refuse to ever go back. the second you let your guard down and think it's ok to use, wham it grabs you again. just like you said it quickly puts you back to sqaure one, if not worse. stick around here. you can also look in the health pages in the top right. there is some info on coke cravings that will help you see why this happens and how to beat a craving. for me i can't let myself reach coke mode, cause then i am ****** so it's important to recognize a craving before it reaches a point you can't control it.

im not too sure my bf says he will help but my mates do it aound me i guess as soon as they do it ill have to leave and go somewhere else, they dont always do it and they are my best friends so i dont want to loose them, to stay away from it this weekend my6 mum and dad has gone away on holiday so im planning on spending time at there house on my own away from my mates to get over the initial week craving, as i have tried to quit twice this year both times lasting exactly 7 weeks, then i think "oh my nose is healing ill just have a bit" and it puts me back to square one if not worse.

it took at least 8 weeks for me, but that was coming of a year coke binge:( if you slowed down quite a bit, i don't think it will take that long to heal. just a question? as you know the power of a coke craving, what will you do next time it hits, it will happen and they are tough to get through. do you have any support at all in quitting? it's just so scary for me now when i hear someone use coke, it's ******* evil.

i reckon it may take a couple weeks, i used to do loads when i was with my ex then calmed down a lot the past year and a half i even stopped for a couple months at a time, the most i have done is a half in a weekend, but mainly just the odd bit here and there never during the week. i reckon maybe 6-8 weeks from what people have said?

at this point keeping it moist is all you can do. im not sure how heavy you used, but since there are no scabs that is a great sign and i assume you did not get to heavy into it or go on big binges, well i hope not. you should be fine in a week or so, although it took a couple months for me since i did a lot of damage

it sounds like your ok. the tissue does heal for sure and since there are no scabs or hole the damage sounds minimal, but as long as you use it will get worse. quitting this drug is very difficult and can come back and bite you after being clean for quite some time. i just want to wish you the best of luck and quit now, before it's too late. i do think your nose will heal fine at this point.

hey yes i do want to quit, i dont have a hole there and i think it can heal, i just wander if it is true that the mucosal tissue around the septum can heal? i have no nose bleeds or scabs so i think im lucky there

the only thing a doctor can do is recommend surgery and tell you to get off the blow. my deviated septum was the least of my problems. cocaine does the most damage to the heart and to the mind. it took a while for my nose to heal and yes, the hole will always be there, but it has improved so much. do you really want to quit???

it was around my 4th year of use, i began to have bad problems with my nose, and the 5th year i finally deviated my septum. everytime you use, coke keeps eating away and that hole will never ever heal, but the cartilage and pain will. although keeping it moist helps for pain and the scabs, (yuck) it does not repair any damagae done to your nose. my advice to you is quit and get some help. it sounds like your close to doing some real damage now, and trust me you do not want a deviated septum, not only will you be cleaning up a lot of blood, but it's very painful and once this happens it makes it's next to impossible to get high as the coke sits in your nasal passage and hard to get those drips. this is when i started overdosing on coke for first time and it's very dangerous. please please quit now, i know how difficult it is:(
