I took Klonipin for an extended period of time and you need a dr to supervise your taper.  10 years is a long time.  How are you doing?

i remember hearing you should NEVER just stopping a benzo. . . . something about convulsions/seizures. Best to speak to whoever prescribed them to you in the 1st place. If you have been abusing them. . . . Best to let them know this as well so it can be treated safely.
Peace!!!!!

PLEASE do not stop this cold turkey. My cousin did it and had a stroke at 35 yrs old she can no longer talk the same and u cant hardly understand her i also have a brother in law come off this c/t and he was ok so it is hit and miss BUT there is a chance w and w taking it for so long i would not chance it. it has a long shel life so it is prob still in ur system. I was on this and went off and the w/d were NOT pleasant it will last a good month to feel normal again maybe longer i felt like everyone was staring at me had bad anxiety and didnt sleep. i hope u can find a way to taper it is the safest way to go w a benzo. lsessings to u i hope u get off them but the right way keep posting

HI coming of 1mg of cloinpine after 10yr on it is not going to be fun your going to start to feel it here any time no sleep is usually the first sign of the withdrawal tene mussel twitching often in the face panic anxiety threw the roof and waves of unrest is the best way to describe benzo withdrawal you may want to talk to your doctor about tapering down where not aloud to disuses dosing on the forum but with benzos going off as slowly as possible will give you the least side effects it took me almost a yr to get off 4mg of xanex like I said slow tapers are the only way otherwise your miserable
keep posting for support good luck and God bless.....Gnarly

klonopin is a benzo and needs to be tapered slowly. the length of time you have been on it is the problem.  it takes about 30 to 40 hours for the system to break down 50% (half-life). you havent gone intol withdrawals yet.
you need to call your doctor.

Anytime we go off meds....we should be monitored for side effects. Klonopin is an anxiety med. You said you were taking 1mg. was that per day? or more than 1 a day.I ask because I take 0.5mg twice a day. It has a short life as in the effects slowly wear off.... but to not have them in my system at the same ratio daily I would certainly have side effects. I suspect as time passed I would experience the same anxiety I had that caused me to take them in the first place....For me was agitation and depression....By the way~It is also one of the most abused meds out there. I am a recovering addict and I have never found it necessary to play with my meds. If you are like me and have been prescribed this med because of severe anxiety.....Chances are the anxiety will return.....The worse thing about going off meds is that if they are working well and we choose to go off them~~and then we need to go back on them somtimes they will not work as well as they did the first go around......If this is an abuse issue~then yes I think things will get worse before they get better....Better to taper.Good luck......and blessings

The question is, how do you feel. Not sure about that drug either but 3 days is hopefully enough time to where you start feeling a liitle better.
I'm sure someone will come along who knows more.
Congrats for getting clean!

I'm not sure about the withdrawal symptoms, but I think it is a drug that needs to be tapered off.  If you're getting it from a doctor, it's best to talk to them about coming off.  I'm sure others with more knowledge will respond soon.

I hope someone like Gnarly_1 will be on here to answer your question. I know klonopin are like xanax, right? R u prescribed them or was you buying them off the street? I would imagine it's not safe to just stop cold turkey!!
