i justtt got prescribed the suboxen today from a doctor i found online, ive beeen trying to stay clean for MONTHS now and its been so hard. ive been so sick and it just never seems to get better. before this my friend who got prescribed subs would either give me half or i would buy sometimes from him..and i would use that to not b sick, it worked for awhilee but i would just go back to doing oxys agian. when i would use the subs to not be sick it actually did work and i would be okayyy until i used agian. NOW..its a totally different story idk if i already got myself hooked on the subs or its just in my head?!?!?! i honestly have not been taking subs everyday previously until today (now that im prescribed it.) i no it has a long half life but i just dont seee how i could possibly of got dependent on the subs so fast. im only 20years old nd without the suboxen i just dont see any hope out there for me. i would really like someones opinion, everyone tells me its in my head, its in MY HEAD!! but it cant be..ill go days and days without sleeping, ill feeel sick like i have a horrible cold my nose is all stuffy and i get the chills and sweattt alot on my hands feet and back. its just horrible i see no hope out there for me and its just so depressing. i just cant keep living like this anymore so i knew that i needed to find a dr. but im stilll scared about the future, cause i no sooner or later im gonna have to face the withdrawels agian, are there any kinds of meds that the dr can give u to make the withdrawels from the subs easier?? and help me sleep without feelingg so horrible?? i cant even think about it my anxietyy goes off the walll...but i really hope there is someone out there who can answer my questions and give me a good responce, and honest too!! thank you =] i hope everyones doing okay today.!

there is no magic pill or anything else to get out of wd's. The wd's from the sub will be worse then that of the oxy's. You can do it. Just think a week or 2 of hell now or a month or 2 later. Either way its gonna happen. Fight for your life now instead of later.

I will agree with that there is no magic cure all of these pills, they are what they are and they take there toll on u one way or now, being clean from drugs are so tuff and its hard to do, but there is always hope, I at one point was going to do subuxone, but i decided not to after everything I heard about them, I started to detox myself back in August and let me tell u that was the worse hell i think anyone can experience, I still get pain to this day but it will get better, its very slight u wont notice at first, it just gets a little better each day that goes by, so its really something thing that u dont notice overnight and wake u saying wow i feel great. Try just to stay clean and not to focus on the w/ds so much (easier said I do know that!)

I came off 80 mg of methadone daily, tapered down to 10 mgs then did subs for 4 days, then jumped off. My doctor prescribed naltrexone. It's been great. Does nothing for the withdrawal but blocks the opiate receptors in the brain. No opiate in it like suboxone.
Really helps with the cravings too. Also its good to know if I wanted to swallow several
pills, it won't matter so why bother. Good wall between me the opiates for a while.
If you get some don't start it for at least 3 days after you're off all opiates. If you take it too soon it will throw you into full blown withdrawal. Hope this helps. Hang in there.

Hey there...like everyone has said, there is no 'magic' pill to make everything go away. So your doctor put you on subs..do they help you? Do they take away cravings and withdrawal symptoms? That's what they're supposed to do. But you also have to be ready to quit too. You should also be in another type of aftercare, like therapy or NA or both..

As far as wd from subs...I am now on them for the 3rd time in my life. The first time I didn't get any additional help like counseling, and so I relapsed. The second time, the doc's office screwed up my insurance paperwork so I had to taper off them. Now I'm back on them not because of a relapse but because I was having post accute wds, so my doc and I decided I should go back on them, and go back into one on one therapy. Already, it's been 2 weeks, and I'm back to the old me, before I started taking any pills. So it's a good thing for me.

The doc who gave you the rx for subs really should come up with a plan with you as far as how long you want/need to be on them and additional aftercare. You could come up with a plan to come off them when you want, but it should be a taper down plan that you discuss with your doc. In my experience with subs vs. my experience with vicodin, the vicodin wds were a thousand times worse than sub wd. Again, that's usually because coming off subs is doctor supervised, done when you're ready, and done using a taper down method usually.

With the level of anxiety you're having, I would definitely get into some sort of therapy right away. You need to get to the root of your problem. Don't worry right now about what others are telling you, as far as things being all in your head and such. Talk to your doctor and figure out the proper dosage for your situation, and come up with a plan as far as how long you'd like to be on them. Don't start thinking now of when you'll have to go off them and what will happen then. Worry about now, about today, here and now. I know that's not easy to do, but if you just focus on one thing at a time you'll be ok. There's hope for you, trust me! If I can do it, you can. You just have to be ready for it and want to work for it. Nothing is going to make you feel 100% great. You have to work all the avenues for yourself. You have to talk to the doctor and figure out your subs situation, get into an aftercare program, and take a deep breath! It'll all be ok. Just keep focused on getting clean and staying clean. You'll be ok. :)

Jewel--

You are so young to be bouncing around with these pills and hurting yourself, mentally and physically.  You have a whole, great life ahead but you need to let this go now.

I don't want to criticize here but, hon, you're doing this wrong. First, suboxone is a "program". It includes seeing a doctor IN PERSON,get induced, being followed, and being able to call the doctor with these questions and problems. You are on your own know with a powerful opiate!  Getting it online is the worst you can do. How can you know it is what they say it is??

Yes,there are non addicting meds, vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that help with withdrawal. If you see a doctor, you can explain you want to stop the oxy and get clean.
I'm sure he/she would help. If not,go somewhere else. Can you talk to to your family?

Getting clean isn't just stopping the pills. It's changing your entire thought process. You need help with that. We all do.

Think hard about taking the suboxone. It doesn't sound like you're even taking it properly.  It can make you sick. Also, when you take an oxy after the sub,the sub will just render the oxy useless. It's a tricky thing with sub. It also has it's own set of crappy withdrawal symptoms.

Be careful here...

...oh, I didn't read the first time that you were buying it online..Yes, vicki is so right with everything. You need to get this from a doctor in person (I thought you found a doctor by doing an internet search and then went to see them..oops, i have to read more carefully!) and not online. Buying any pills online is so dangerous for a number of factors. And honestly, I was feeling better when I started it within the first couple hours. But I see my doctor in person and she monitors me very closely to make sure that this is working properly for me. In conjunction with the suboxone, i have to see a therapist in order for my insurance to cover it. I'm glad it's set up that way, as I need to have a professional to talk to about all the things that go along with drug abuse. That said, you are sounding way too anxious - not at all how this drug, when taken properly, should be making you feel. It's not a sedative or anything, but your wd symptoms should be gone almost right away (physical ones) and the mental wds are helped a little bit by the subs, but only fully when you have additional aftercare. It sounds like you're used to taking a pill to deal with everything, as I was at some point as well. But there's no pill in the world that will just make all your problems disappear. Suboxone is used to treat opiate dependence. There's no pill to treat the wds from a pill that treats wds, lol..

So get in to see a doctor, and the 2 of you can sit down and figure out exactly what a good plan for you is. If you can afford to buy subs online, then I know you can afford a doctor's visit. Please go see one ASAP, and not just to ge tmore pills but to get help. Like vicki said, you have to change your entire thought process, not just take a pill and be done. Please let us know what happens! :)

I don't think she bought it online. The way I took it is that she just did the doctor search online but seeing a doctor in person. I know it doesn't mean much but she did say, "i justtt got prescribed the suboxen today from a doctor i found online". Most do find their sub doctor online from doing a search.  If she got it prescribed online today she wouldn't have had it to take today. She also said,  "i honestly have not been taking subs everyday previously until today (now that im prescribed it)."

You got some great advice above. Like WantToBeNormalAgain said, don't stress on the future withdrawals. Right now just work a good recovery program and worry about getting out of your addictive ways. I'm guessing the withdrawals you had before was not so much from the sub but more from the oxy. And even if it was from the sub you probably didn't do a proper taper if any taper at all. The key is a very low and slow taper. So don't dwell on what's too come. You may be worrying about some bad withdrawals that may not even happen with a proper taper.
