heroin withdrawals. day 2. i need motivation

I am on about hour 36 of my heroin withdrawal. I have to say that this has been an insanely painful road so far. My first day started with such violent vomiting I had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital and hooked up with IV and anti nasea meds. I have been smoking black tar heroin every day for about 2 months before I quit the other night. I didnt think I was as addicted as I was until I started realizing withdrawal symptoms coming sooner and sooner after each time i smoked. I have been sober since Sunday morning around 3AM. Please just tell me it gets better and soon. I have withdrawn before from heroin once and it was not as painful as this. Last night was awful with insomnia and a few hours of sleep that I woke from covered from head to toe in sweat. Is there anything I can take thats not from a pharmacy to help? I have been taking advil and I think it has helped but I cannot really tell as this is so horrifyingly painful. My body is so sore and I'm freezing and if someone touches my skin it feels right awful. :(
If you can share your heroin w/d stories w me and give me some help it would be so appreciated. i found this forum in the midst of a sweat attack and so far I have read such helpful things. Thank you so much!

Not from a pharmacy?  Do you mean not Rx?  Not much really.  Antihistamines might help with the runny nose/watery eyes.  Ibuprofen does help with the aches, a bit.  Imodium (immodium) for the GI distress.  One thing you might wanna try is dextromethorphan.  Get it in an unadulterated syrup like the brand name DelSym cough medication.  It is a NMDA receptor antagonist and will ease some wd symptoms as some are a result of over activity at those receptors.  As far as dosage goes, take what you can tolerate, twice a day, but keep in mind that over 200mg of DXM will result in trippy, dissociative PCP like effects, which I personally abhor.  Try it for the first 4-5 days, which tend to be the worst.  

And chin up mate.  Remember, it could always be worse.  I withdrew in a jail cell once and got little pity from the guards, save one who slipped me a few Tylenol 3s on the sly, which did virtually nothing to help given my HUGE habit.  By day 3 I was vomiting, sweating and shaking uncontrollably, I could keep nothing down, I was very near hallucinating at times.  At that point the doc who was in for his daily visit took pity on me and gave me a jab of demerol in the rear end, which I got every 6 hours from then on out until I was released two days later.  I loved that man.  In any event, take care.  I wish you well.  It ***** but hang in there.

You really should have scored 10 or 20 valium though, but your call mate.  All the best!

I wish I could score some valium but unfortunately I have no doctor and no insurance and no way to get any drug besides heroin. Which is sad. All my friends are addicted and the people who used to have other goodies for sell only have h now. Its a sad place in my city.

You can get loads of smack but no benzos?  Strange.  Where I live we actually have a place known as "Benzo Corner". :)

Black tar eh?  We do not have that stuff up here, just Vancouver #4 (SE Asian, mostly Afghani), a white to just off white powder, much closer to pure diacetylmorphine HCL salts I reckon.  That tar is Mexican correct?  Do people inject that?

Again, I wish you well man.  I would really ask around for valium though, turn every rock over you can.  They help big time IMHO.  Straight CT is brutal.

just reading your message. hang in there! i have never taken H before, but i know about withdrawl. what city do you live in? i only ask because 20/20 did a story on a town in ohio (i think) that alot of the residents where addicted to black tar heroin.

Just want to say hang in there... this wont kill you, you may want it to, but it will just hurt like he11 (as you know fairly well at this point).  Try Tylenol PM to sleep - I doubt it will work when you are in the most acute phase of wd, but it's worth a shot.. Time is your best friend.  Count the minutes if you have to..
Just Dont give up, you CAN do it.  You are so brave to be at hour 36 and have already suffered 36 hours - please stay strong.  Best of luck - God bless.

The last time I CT'd off H I had a couple bottles of NyQuil, Jack Daniels, & seroquel... it wasn't fun but I got though it.  I wouldn't recommend my personal cocktail as it can be very dangerous.  If you can stand long enough get into a super super hot shower and stay as long as you can - that helps alot with the skin crawlies and whatnot.  The best advice is just to kick your way thru it.  The worst part is normally over by day 4... PM me if you need someone to talk to.  I've kicked H more times than I like to admit!  Good luck

thank you everyone who responded. I did end up hunting down some xanax, after literally hours and hours of begging people to help me find some. I am on day 3 now, I think around hour 55. I am still down in the dumps and having stomach cramping but i feel worlds better than the last two days. I even cried out of happiness that I actually am going through with it this time. its so easy for me to score some h, and i had all my dealers texting me about the "bomb new **** that just came in" and i just turned my phone off and got through it. I took LOADS of hottttt showers. Never did burning scolding water feel SOOOO good. I still feel ancy like I want to just jump right out of my body. But wow, i cant believe I made it this far :)

hot showers and lots of prayer. you will be though the worst of it in the next 2 days . don't look for a easy way out like other drugs.i've been made to come off a coupl times and it *****  but if you want it you can do it. i tryed the subs. please don't go there. withdrawls from methadone now 9 days clean. just now feel like i can take a deep breath.this time it was my choice.but h has a short life and you started withdrawals the first day. so hang in there better days are coming. and take sleep when ever you can. thinking if i stay awake allday i will sleep tonight don't work. if you can get 10 mins 20  30  take it .it maybe all you get that day.i now get 2 to 3 hours a night . and i'm grateful for that.as soon as you feel like you can go out find a meeting.stay strong your amost there and im very proud of you and you should be to god bless

I take it you're either here to poke fun at people or to try and obtain some sort of assistance in getting off of drugs yourself? Either way, you might want to try and respect those who are trying to obtain some sort of peace in knowing that they're headed down the right path to getting their life back.
