hope this helps i was looking on these site trying to get off vicodin not to long ago

use  methadone to get off them...it works and its quick...i was in your place i work and am a full time student...and couldnt afford to miss a full week and a half.. i saw all these people saying to use these weird drugs that a doctor wouldnot prescribe and could only be gotten at a rehab...there are several methadone clinics...and yes it does cure..just dont keep taking it...i heard its much worse to be addicted to it than vicodin

I am glad that it worked for you; however, as a rule, it is not a good idea to recommend that people take Methadone to get off of a much less addicting substance. First off, there are no clinics that I know of that will do a short taper so I assume you did not do an actual "program" with it. That is also not cool to recommend.

Methadone does not cure a damn thing,and using it to get off much weaker opiates is a mistake.I made that mistake,and paid a heavy price,and I don't mean money.If you are on it still, get away quick,for your own well being.                                           kc

As a vicodin addict, I don't think I could have used methadone to quit. I have heard the withdrawals from it are so much worse and the withdrawals from Vicodin were bad enough. I think your telling folks here to use methadone as a quick "cure" fro vicodin withdrawals is not only dangerous but stupid...just my not so humble opinion...

the only way it could work is if you really , really , hate methadone and really , really want to stop using painkillers , but even then your body and mind will trick you and pretty soon you wont hate methadone so much, cuz you realize its the only thing keeping you from feelin like s h i t , and since methadone is atleast 5x stronger than hydrocodone your body will require even more hydro than before and your stuck in a rut.Eventually you got to feel some sort of wd.

I hate methadone , i mean absolutley hate it, i only take it if i am completly out and relly have to, and i had the same thought as you , cuz i only take min. amount so it barely keeps wd. away, and i thought oh i can just ween off the methadone cuz i hate it so much, well when its all btween you and wd. guess what , you dont hate it so much.
