ADDICTION: SUBSTANCE ABUSE COMMUNITY
hope

hope

I have not been on the forum all weekend, but I just wanted to let everyone know that there is hope. Like I have said before I am a recovering alcoholic and did not think that I could become addicted to the pills but I did and very quickly. I think that one of the main reasons that I did not last too long w/ the pills is b/c I have been through recovery before (with alcohol). I have taken pills on and off over the last few years, but in the last few months is when I really realized that I was having to take them. I tried to stop and the withdrawls were so bad that I continued. But I have not had any in 8 days now. Yesterday was the first time in a long time that I woke up feeling good and felt happy about life. I was happy about going to church and it felt so good just to physically and mentally feel good. So for everyone out there struggling, please just keep holding on. I truly believe that this life can be wonderful, but it is what we make it. Also prayers can work miracles if you just have the faith. Good luck to all!

Korley!
