horrible RLS??

ok so now i am on my 7th day off of suboxone and overall i feel 85% better but only during the day, as soon as night time rolls around i have the worst RLS ive had its worse than on days 1-5 of my WDs. i dont know what to do i've tried taking an herbal sleep blend from hi-health and additional melatonin as well as calicum and magneisum as im told they all help with RLS and muscel spasms, but still none of it works. can anybody tell me when this will stop or what i can do about it? im really trin to stay away from things like tylenol PM. Thanks

Yeah look into that hylands restful legs Ive heard from many people that I know personally that it helped alot. For some odd reason Ive never gotten real bad RLS when coming off opiates, but do get real bad aches and pains, basicly just always sore and never comfortable. Anyways from my experience at day 8 things were still pretty tough but it really started to noticeably improve soon there after, so hang in there. You should be very proud for making it this far, always remember the experience as motivation to never put yourself in that situation again, atleast thats one thing that helps me stay clean. I wish you the best of luck with your RLS and sleep, I was prescribed remeron to help with sleep and I also took 5mgs of melatonin. The first week or so I took Lunesta for sleep, then switched back to the remeron, but my doc had no problem writing a 10day script to help with sleep. I know for me that was the biggest hurdle was not being able to sleep at all in my previous attemtpts to quit, it wasnt until my 3rd real attempt when I could actually get 3-5hrs of sleep that I stuck it out. Anyways it sounds like your past most of that, its really good that your physically active, that helps so much with both the physical and mental aspects of detox. The one last thing I would suggest is to seek some sort of aftercare, whether it be meetings, counselor, therapist or any other means that Im forgetting. Im not sure how familiar you are with quitting opiates but staying clean is a lifelong struggle and it helps to have a place where you can talk about your issues and learn more about how to cope without self medicating. Alright well Ive rambled on long enough, again congrats, you take care of yourself, keep up the good work.

there is a study in the health pages and it gives some tips to help with rls...there r some otc and rx meds to help as well..exercise, massage, deep heat. compression and sumtimes even ice..can relieve the spasm..it has to do with the decresed dopamine level and the body is adjusting...hang tight and also talk with ur dr if this doesnt pass very soon

whew!!!
There is some crazy stuff in this world, but if hurting badly enough, then a fresh bar or two of soap is worth a try.  It will always get used anyway!!

I was reading this on one of the other forums and people with fibro were swearing it works!!!!  go figure!

You can try and eat lots of bananas, drink tons of water, if you can take some baths (preferably epsom salt baths) which forces magnesium into the muslces. The good news from my experience is after about day 7 I started to feel better each day, with day 10 being a real turning point for me. It was the first morning I woke up and felt okay, I did have lingering sleep issues along with some depression but it worked itself out. I really got into doing moderate excercise which really helped with the w/d's, its tough to do but even short walks can really help. Just know that hopefully within the next few days things will start to improve. Hang in there, I know its tough but its so worth the rewards. Take Care and Good Luck.

I have read on these posts that sub is really a b#### with rls .  I have always had that during my lifetime.  even the cat won't sleep next to me!! lol  I  used a heating pad at night ( it couldn't run away ).  it really did help even with the pain, My dr. has me on cymbalta and remeron for sleep, I will never take sleep for granted again!!

Best wishes

Was it BIOFREEZE , someone on these posts were saying that this was excellent for muscle pain.  Perhaps they will post it on this thread or do a search on google or yahoo.  It came highly reccomended tho.  I have never tried it.

I am pretty sure that was what it was called.
