how long - without imodium?

Hi There,

I just wondered how long I might be running to the bathroom if I don't take imodium, since I can't get out of the house to get any, and not sure when someone might be able to get me some...

I managed to sleep more last night than the one before, although I woke up a couple of times for a while in the 5 hours I was in bed.

I'm currently feeling nauseated and quite hot, even though it's not particularly hot here...  Feeling very 'blah' too - no energy - possibly not surprising given the fact that I haven't managed to eat much (some potatoes last night), and the water/juice I drink goes right through me.

Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks :)

Thanks sara and dano.

I'm on day 6 now, and I definitely asked my partner to get me some imodium.  It felt like a miracle how much better I felt once it kicked in!  I was able to eat also thankfully, so have a little of my strength back.  I didn't take any imodium yesterday because things in that area seemed back to normal - at least for a while - but today things seem to be slipping backwards, so I took one earlier and hope that I don't have to take them too often: ).

I'm going to go for a walk in a bit with my partner, although I might end up going part of the way myself since he's heading to the university and I want to go to the supermarket.  I'm a bit nervous about going out into the world since I haven't left the house for nearly a week, but everyone on here says it's good to get exercise, and walking is about the only exercise I can do right now.

Thanks again :) :)

I'm on day 7 C/T.  8-10 vikes a day for 9 months.  I can relate to the bathroom thing.  Days 3-5 where the worst for the runs.  Hang in there it will past, day 7 has been much better.  Think positive thoughts, because the depression thing kicks in soon if not already.  But take heart that goes away also. May take a few weeks for that though.  Keep fourcing yourself to eat and excersice it helps a bunch.  Good luck.  dano

We are glad you are here too.  I would have someone get you some Immodium.  It will help with the cramps too.  You will feel better and may be able to utilize some food then too.  You dont want to get dehydrated.  Let us know how you are feeling but have someone go and get you Immodium.        sara

Thanks Sara,

Yes I'm in day 3 now...  i feel worse so far today than I did yesterday.  I'm taking vitamins (or at least I took one last night after I managed to eat some boiled potato).

If this going to the bathroom like this is likely to last a few more days I really might have to ask someone to get my some imodium as I don't think I can take it much longer...  I can't sleep - mainly because of having to run to the bathroom all the time, and the stomach cramps.

Thanks for your support.  I'm glad I found this site and joined up: )

You are on day 3 now right?  I would think the runs would slow down in the next few days.  Today may be the worst day of it.  Just keep drinking fluids.  I know it feels as if everything runs out but just keep drinking.  Try and get some bland foods in your system like toast, bananas or something.  I ate those pudding pops.  Are you taking any type of vitamins?  if not check the amino acid protocol in the health pages on here.  Take warm baths or showers as that will help the aches.  Try and get up and move around as much as you can.  I know you dont feel good but this wont last.  Stay positive in your thinking.  You can do this!!!          sara
